The Angels seem willing to listen on Mike Napoli, Jeff Mathis and their entire infield, which consists of Kendry Morales, Howie Kendrick, Erick Aybar and Chone Figgins.
They appear to have interest in young, high-upside pitchers, which could mean they're unsure they'll re-sign John Lackey after the season.

Out of our entire infield, Naps is definitely going to be the one who will peak everyones interest...
Hits between 250. and 280….bats 20 + homeruns. Makes sense to me.
Also makes sense on why we shouldnt listen to offers involving him.

The only downsides for us keeping Napoli
He has had a few health issues of the possibly chronic kind.
His defense is league average at best.
He works pitchers fine bit nothing so extraordinary that it makes him indispensable.
If we are going to re-sign Vlad, Napoli is not going to get any DH ABs.
If Conger is even close to living up to the hype we can trade up just before Napster gets truly expensive.
I know small sample size
but right now Conger has a .583 OPS against righties.
Should the Angels trade Naps, Catcher position goes from one of their strengths to one of their biggest weaknesses. Mathis is a great backup, but he already gets too much playing time.
maybe...
Bobby Wilson has had a pretty decent year for SLC. Who knows how well he could do in The Show.
As for Mathis, yeah…dude needs to learn how to hit.

How can you talk about "chronic injuries"
and not consider the amount of injuries Conger has had without even getting past double A??

I LAUGHED
when I read this. Acuda will not let K-mo go out off the house ( except for baseball of course!), Soth will not trade a fellow Italian groper or his man-crush , no one can touch Desmond, Howie is not done with his season-long commercials, and Eybar looks like the Joker. Peace!

Any outside observer...
…can see how underappreciated Mikey is here. Dude is one of the better all-around catchers in baseball, and he’s fortunate to steal PT from “Mendoza” Mathis.
