Because getting 4th place in AL OF voting behind Josh Hamilton and his .746 OPS would be a disgrace. Torii deserves to start.
Josh Hamilton is on the DL and in a rehab assignment. Torii probably broke a rib running into a wall and yet still has an OPS of .961 and is on pace to go 20/20 with 100 RBI.
Go Vote for Torii. Up to 25 Times.

I've voted 50 times
and I doubt Hamilton starts. Although it is estimated he comes back before the ASG, I doubt Texas lets him play due to the injury risk. All in all, he’s probably not going to start

as opposed to say, Jacoby Ellsbury or Carl Crawford…

I’d say let him into the Home Run Derby, but that always seems to mess up guys’ swings
This team is gonna kill me.

Napoli should be in the derby next year in front of the home crowd and become the third Angel to win since 2003. I have a feeling he would just crush the ball and have the fans going crazy, but thats just my dream senario.
They should rename Angel Stadium to "Heaven"

Winning the HR derby screws you up for the rest of the season (see Vlad 2007 or Abreu 2005).

That's only a problem if you are a mattress salesperson.
