Angels #1 in 2009 Ultimate Standings
ESPN rarely gives us what we believe is our due, but when given the opportunity to speak for ourselves, plus a few unbiased metrics, we always take our spot among the best franchises in sports. We've been number 1 among MLB teams for several years running, and this year we finally made it to #1 overall. Check it out.

Damn good article
Like I say, I’m blessed to have a first class team just down the road at a discounted price.
And I love Arte’s business model: put butts in seats.
I guess we just have to hope to remain good and spoiled, because once the world finally catches on to just how dynamite this organization is, we locals are going to lose something we’ve been able to call our own (in a fashion) for many years.

Moreno figured something out early
He realized the competition for getting fans wasn’t the Dodgers. It was the beach, the mountains, the deserts—every SoCal amenity which beckons. He needed to create a compelling argument for someone to attend an Angel game instead of sitting at the beach, or going skiing, or off-roading.
I think he has made a very good case for the team.
Comparing him to Sterling for a moment, Donald T has had every opportunity to move his franchise to Anaheim and have a prime spot in the Pond (sorry, can’t call it anything else after all these years). Instead, his East LA inferiority complex drives him to settle for second-best in Staples than the #1 spot in the Pond.
It is a shame, because if he ran his club the way Moreno does the Angels, he’d have a thriving franchise in OC with a team which could rival the Lakers for supremacy in the Pacific division.

good to see
having been an angels fan since I was a little kid and living through before and after the disney era the team sure has changed a lot and so have the fans. Man, I remember when the stadium held 60 and we were lucky to get 7 in the seats. Arte Moreno sure has steered the team in the right direction.

We are especially lucky to have Mr. Moreno as the owner of the team.
It could be worse, much much worse. Just think if Donald Sterling owned the team. THAT is a scary thought.
