Just a thought here.. Great to see Torri hitting 3rd..While everyone knows that I regard Vlad as a God, he is nolonger a typical 3 hitter.. Yer 3 hitter should be a great athlete and your best hitter if possible,while Torri def can’t match Vlad for his career,right now he is the best option to hit 3rd.. Clean up with Vlad,take some pressure off…He should be a 4th hitter,while Torri can still create havoc on the basepaths !
That is the pitch Vlad needs 2 be PATIENT 4… I don’t think he is a David ortiz n decline,he can still drive the ball (hit the CF wall in TO 400 ft) What he needs to learn is to STOP swinging at unhittable pitches (even 4 Vlad) He can’t drive thos crazy pitches that he use 2.. But if he learned to be patient and wait for a pitch high to drive,you are gonan see a .300 avg with 20 hr and 75 rbi by seasons end..Not 2 bad for 4 months of production…

he consistently forgets that the listener can’t see what is going on. Example, “line drive to right field, Abreu over to cut it off before it gets to the wall” (um, we don’t know if Abreu was catching it or getting it on a hop).

I don’t recall Vin Scully or Chick Hearn ever talking about crap like that.
The only bottle race that matters to me is the one from my liquor cabinet to the glass as our bullpen comes in with the gas can and matches.
