Figgins and Posada Tangle Article and Video
Here is a link to an entire column discussing the play that occurred during last night's game.
Figgins popped up and Posada is setting to make the play. Figgins backs into Posada. Posada's glove becomes loosened and then he sheds it and makes the catch with a batting-gloved hand.
It is one of the weirdest plays I have ever seen.
Judging by Hudler's reaction in the video, it was a pretty wacky play.

That was unreal
It looked like Figgins legitimately lost his balance and Posada losing his glove was a bit of an accident. Great catch though, just like a cricketer!
My favourite bit is the way that Posada looks at Figgins after the catch. Posada’s face is just priceless, like WTF??? … pity we can’t see Figgins’ reaction — did he apologise, shrug, or smile? Anyway, he was out!

The first angle looked like it was all intentional. But the second angle looked very much like an accident. If I was Posada I’d be pissed too. Either intentional or not, that was kind of jacked.

Figgins just stood there giving Posada and the NYY dugout a "don't even think about messing with me" look.
It was great.

After reading the article, what was up with Posada anyway?
He caught the ball, so Figgins was out. Posada starts arguing with the umpire for not calling interference on Figgins which would have only resulted in Figgins being out. Was Posada trying to record two outs off Figgins on that play?

As soon as Figgins tangled with Jorge, interference should have been called loudly and clearly by the ump. It should have been called even before the ball was caught. That is the point. No, he could not get two outs, but the ump should have been more quick to call interference.
I love this team.

Glad to see that Figgy received the Josh Beckett treatment from the umpire.
"That Jepsen, he's throwing the ball well ... he has three fine pitches." Rex Hudler: moron.
