CNNSI top 100 list
Out of the top 100 players in baseball right now, only four Angels are on the list. Three of these Angels on the list will be free agents next year.
34. Torii Hunter- Having a great year
54. John Lackey- One spot behind Jason Bay. Lackey and Figgins should be the Angels priority in the off season.
57. Bobby Abreu- His season has surprised me, wasn't a fan of signing a 35 year old, but he has been solid.
62. Chone Figgins- 395 OBP - very good lead off man, would like to see him play 2nd next year of an outfield position.

Hmm… I guess I don’t read enough.
I love this team.

And the thing is ...
the Angels do not have any real superstars. Who needs them?
This compilation, as it stands, does not offend me in the least bit.
I love this team.
Just as a first glance...
…but ranking Jarrod Washburn ahead of Jered Weaver does offend me eversoslightly…
I’m sure there are others, but I’d definitely have WTY in the top 100.
I see red people
I just caught that one, too…
I love this team.

What is CNNSI?
Assuming it is sports illustrated, why not post a link for the readers?
Since you joined April 13, 2009, you have made 14 fanposts but only have commented 62 times most of which were within your own fanposts. Most of the subjects of your fanposts are discussed regularly and previously in other threads and in the general conversation on HH. Why don’t you try reading and engaging within the community instead of having to make a fanpost every time you feel the need to make a comment. Making everyone have to come to you to interact instead of joining in the general conversation is obnoxious.
I am happy to introduce All Star Third Baseman, Chone Figgins.
tried posting a linki earlier
44fan, I did post a link on the post earlier today, but it would not let me post. Anyways, what is the problem? Just go to cnnsi.com? Making a big deal out of nothing. Just thought it was an interesting article. Also, a year ago I am sure Vladdy would of been high on this list.

I helped you out by posting the link in the first comment. Thanks for drawing attention to the article. I think Stirrups’ explanation was the best, though: we got equal representation.
I love this team.

Uhhh...simple math here.
There are 30 teams in MLB. So the Top 100 averages out to 3.33 players per team. Halos have 4. That’s above average. What’s the complaint?
We don't have a Bullpen. We have a Cowpen. Before we get to call it a Bullpen these guys gotta grow a pair.

Don't bug me at the moment. I am concentrating.
I am watching that Evony girl evolve. In only two or three more days she is gonna be a pole dancer…
We don't have a Bullpen. We have a Cowpen. Before we get to call it a Bullpen these guys gotta grow a pair.
I noticed the change last night.
Gone was the blondie in the tantasy princess-boobs-falling-out dress and I miss her.
.... as sexy as socks on a rooster.
I wondered about the change...
…in this post.
Rspencer the linked to this article to explain the…uh…“evolution” of Evony advertising.
Yeah. That conversation was what I was playing off of.
You promised me a pole dancer. I don’t want to missi it if it happens.

Well...
…she’s already lloking pretty damn slutty! And, they have changed the add so that she’s now horizontal across the top of the page. Subtle…but…uh…effective.
Can’t wait to see what the next ad brings.
I’m afraid to click that thing. I have no idea what it is trying to tell me. I’m a lord?
I love this team.

The ads to fear are the ones promising to turn your phot into a cartoon.
I thought that might be fun if it worked and was free. We could do the whole team and use the imagery around here. So I clicked it to investigate. Bad idea. All my spam/trojan/virus defense software lit my laptop up like a friggin’ Christmas tree. I did not get infected, but I did get scrared witless.

They support the site so I do not have to.
Therefore, if hey promise me something interesting enough, and I trust my protection systems solidly enough, I go…

I remember that article. I can't remember if I saw the link here or from one of my other friends.

No Justin Speier?

Terrible, bias-laden list, actually
I’m not gonna go easy on them…Jeter is the 23rd best player in all of baseball right now? Horseshit. Youkilis 16th best? Double horseshit.
Two guys who put up numbers in bandbox stadiums that are shams to the sport.
by Caseys Kiss of Death on Jul 22, 2009 7:04 PM PDT reply actions
Can't speak to Youkilis (except to that fugly beard)
but after watching him play for 13 years, that’s not a fair statement. First, Jeter brings intangibles. He makes improbable plays and plays at 110% all the time. Second, while the power (fading fast) drops outside NY, his BA actually goes up.
Look his defense is overrated, his range is shrinking fast, he was saved for years by Tino’s glove (and now by Tex), and his power numbers have dropped off a cliff. But at 35, I believe he is STILL heads and shoulders above most AL SS and I would take him on our team in a nano.
I want to caveat all of this by reaffirming how much i HATE the Yankees and I hope that Derek discovers Hare Krishna and is next found selling flowers at the airport.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
These are pulled out of my ass in the course of about 30 seconds
and I intentionally did not name a single Angels player, too.
At this exact moment in time, without hesitation, I would take every single one of these players over Derek Jeter. And I can name more if you like.
This already puts him worse than 23rd on the list:
Albert Pujols
Ryan Howard
Prince Fielder
David Wright
Jose Reyes
Carlos Beltran
C.C. Sabathia
Chase Utley
Hanley Ramirez
Alex Rodriguez
Mark Teixeira
Johan Santana
Tim Lincecum
Miguel Cabrera
Mariano Rivera
Dan Haren
Adrian Gonzalez
Roy Halladay
Joe Mauer
Justin Morneau
Ichiro Suzuki
Ryan Braun
Zack Greinke
Victor Martinez
Cole Hamels
Evan Longoria
At this stage in his career, he’s a BAD defender (and really, has been for a while), whose only power comes from playing in a bandbox that challenges Coors Field, and hits for high average.
But there’s a world of difference between being a really good player, and being one of the 23 best in all of baseball today. He is the former, not the latter.
And fuck the word “intangibles” in regards to Jeter. It’s tossed around as an empty word in regards to him, basically used to fill the void between the hype surrounding him and the actual statistical contributions he gives. He doesn’t hustle, provide leadership, or “give 110%” anymore than about 95% of baseball players do…he just does it in New York.

I thought about disagreeing
but today I am a TRUE angel fan
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
I hate lists like this
It just isn’t realistic to compare players of different positions. If you want to break the list up into a separate list for all the different positions, then fine, but like this it just doesn’t make any sense.
How can you compare a pitcher to a first baseman?
RIP Nick. We will miss you!
CNNSI?
Is that still a thing? I thought they broke that up years ago. ESPN’s deathgrip on TV rights killed it
