I'm always scared when some designer tries to get "creative" with baseball logos

You end up with things like the Diamondbacks original uniform or a certain winged logo we all despise

I try not to chastise the menfolks too much but Ladybug is super. I have been deliriously happy to discover a baseball forum that has so many intelligent regulars, and where misogyny and shrieking about politics and generall bullying are so very rare.

Concur. this looks like it was one of the first drafts, as the designer pulled something off the top of his/her head.

This might just be the initial logo

with other designs incorporated into this, and/or other ideas.

Like these

most recent games included one, or more alternate logos. Then they might use some un-MLB-officially used logos around town to help promote the game.

i've been very curious as to what they're going to do for their gimmick

st. louis had the arch in all of their commercials and on the jerseys. the yankees had the lady liberty statues and the stadium facade. SF had the bridge and those commercials with the players on the cable cars. i suppose they could go off the halo, but i’m really curious as to what they can do to promote the angels and anaheim for the 2010 ASG.

The Stars on Hollywood Boulevard

The commercial would have the All-Star players walking down Hollywood Blvd. over all the stars on the sidewalk, then a few players find themselves in front of the Chinese Theatre. They look down at the star with their name on it and MLB baseball logo, then look up at the camera smile and give the thumbs up sign.

TATTOO WORTHY LOGO

Funny how the Angels lettering looks so stiff when it is not on a curve like it goes on the front of the Angels’ uniform – very timid lettering on an otherwise cool logo. No text at all would have been most bitchin’ …

I like the logo, especially the halo on the star...

but there should be a little star between “star” and “game” like there is between “all” and “star”. Better balance, symmetry.

Pretty much all the ASG logos since ’92 have the star as the hyphen in one form or another. At least in a quick glance they all do.

50th season

Anniversaries get tricky because they technically mark the completion of a specific year, so the 50th anniversary of the 1961 inaugural team will be fifty years to the day (2011), but the Angels will be opening their 50th season in 2010.

I like the color and the typeface.

Agreed...

I guess the game is in Arlington not Anaheim. People, the first letter of All-Star is A, you mean to tell me some jerk off with a degree from ITT Tech couldn’t design a logo that featured the Big A??? It’s ok, it’s not like it’s a prominent icon or anything. 2010 logo= FAIL!
