Angels interested in Freddy Sanchez
Makes sense. Trade Howie in a deal for Cliff Lee, trade other guys for Freddy Sanchez, maybe groom sean rodriguez to be the 2nd baseman of the future.
Freddy and Howie's similarities go beyond cutsie names. They both hit for average and dont walk, both play 2nd base...but Freddy is 31(!). He has 28 doubles this year.
Thoughts?

here's the thing...
if Howie is being moved in another deal for, say, Cliff Lee, it seems to make sense. BUT here’s the problem – if Sanchez is traded, i believe his $8+ MM option kicks in for 2010. Is that the end of the world? No, but it sure doesn’t make anything any easier, unless we’re planning on flipping him in the offseason or keeping SRod in the minors longer.
Thank you, Nick Adenhart. You will always be remembered. #34

and doesnt rodriguez seem like the logical piece they(pit) would want out of a sanchez trade?

could very well be
if that’s the case, it could turn into a 1-for-1 swap, considering Sanchez’s salary.

it only makes sense if HK gets traded for Lee, then do the Sanchez deal...
They want power, We want respect...

I was thinking that...
MLB Teams are trying to acquire depth so that they can flip the talent for another player.
I think Boston is going to pull a blockbuster trade and it won’t have anything to do with Roy Halladay or Cliff Lee.
For someone who has a lot more talent in realistically measuring talent, tell me what it would take to get Cliff Lee, Roy Halladay, George Sherril, and Aaron Harrang. Then figure out what deal would make the most sense to improve the team today.

Quite the shuffle though,
Who will they send for Sanchez? Didn’t realize things were so bad.

backup for Howie if Howie's dealt
although, i think we’d be better served by moving Figgy to 2B with Woody at 3B. Maicer plays super-sub.

This makes zero sense
Even if the plan is to move Kendrick, the Angels still have Maicer Izturis to play 2B through 2010 and Sean Rodriguez as an even longer term option. Also don’t forget that Chone Figgins is a natural 2B in case the Angels sign him to a new contract. Acquiring a guy who is (1) older (2) worse (3) more expensive than all three players named above would just be stupid. This can’t be true. Who the hell is Jeff Fletcher anyways?

Remember how Izzy spent half of last year on the DL?
Let's do this for Nick Adenhart, Courtney Stewart, and Henry Pearson.
