Dodgers Get Sherrill
Well....there goes another option. Looks like Ninja is going to have to work quickly if he wants to get something done.

If he is a true Ninja
Then the deal he makes, will not be on MLB Trade Rumors until it is done.

Just like the Teixeira trade last year...
That wasn’t reported on MLBTR until JUST before it was done, right? Like an hour, maybe?
Still, one wonders if Tony isn’t running into the same problem Bill Stoneman always did—most other teams are willing to be reasonable with each other and will take a reasonable deal like the Dodgers probably did here, but as soon as the Angels want in it’s “Brandon Wood and your other two Baseball America Top 100 prospects or else.” Seriously, WTF is up with that?

I like Sherrill
I have him in both the fantasy leagues I play in. He’s good for like 20 saves. But we don’t really need him. And although the Dodgers didn’t over pay, I’m pretty sure we would have had to, to get him. With the way Bulger has been pitching and Arrendondo hopefully rejoining the team soon, I think our bullpen would be fine.
But I’d like trade for another front of the line pitcher or a difference maker player… which I don’t think we’ll do.

I thought this was the move we were gonna make
It probably wouldn’t have cost us anyone that significant. But I guess it’s not to be.
The way our offense has been going maybe we won’t need the pitching. It’s been the strangest Angels season I’ve ever seen with the exception of ‘02. Who knows what’ll happen?

I agree with you on the strange part...
…and the question of who knows what will happen. This has been a very wild ride.
If somene had described in March, ‘09 what would happen to this team over the next 4 months, and then tell me they’s be 60-40 on July 30th, I’d have laughed. No way this team could overcome all this adversity, and still reach 20 games over .500. NO WAY.

If ninja doesn’t make it a private call they will know he’s calling and mute the ringer.

We are good only if...
Weaver will find his consistency
Santana will find his velocity
before post season starts
I know Lackey will be just fine by then

60-40 says we're good right now.

exactly, their is no reason to pani. we’re .600 right now! Sure post season baseball is alot different than regular season baseball, but its not like we’re getting killed by the rangers, yanks, and sox.
