Return of the King
Part 2 of Monday Night's Angels Stadium Brawl: The guy who got in the best punches and appears to be the least drunk (and who one poster here identified as a friend of his named AIR MIKE) returns to his seats to the applause of the Angel Stadium crowd.

Clearly he was provoked, but I have a queezy feeling about this
How loud would the cheers be if the usher that shoved out of the way had fallen and been seriously injured? The reason why these things are reserved for self defense is that the law of unintended consequence is very real.
He is a BIG guy and what if (I know, I know) one of those punches had fractured a skull? Pretty high price for a thrown beer. The guy was going to be tossed anyway.
I understand the emotion of the moment and I am not judging him, per se, but those who would applaud the response as if society should encourage such a response.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

Exactly
The usher got the worst of his response.

True and valid points, but that, to me, is just another reason why maybe we shouldn't have super-old dudes as ushers.
Not to mention the fact that I guarantee these old dude ushers are told not to try to stop fights. I GUARANTEE IT!
Whatever dude.

I sort of agree.
Context is everything, and there’s a lot of missing context. Was he protecting someone else? Was the beer thrower making racial comments? If so, the beer thrower earned a knuckle sandwich.
He very well may be a hero, but I’d like to more facts before bestowing that title.

I am certainly not condemning his response
You’re correct about context and his response was clearly emotional, but absent protecting someone (from…stray foam?) the potential consequences are what I’m focusing on. This isn’t a Hollywood choreographed fight. This is real and innocent people (not just the beer throwing knucklehead) stand the risk of being hurt. Further, we have direct evidence of escalation as others joined into the fisticuffs. We also have evidence that the emotion was strong enough to discard those who were in the way. What if it escalated into a melee? My experience is that violence resulting from emotion is rarely a positive thing.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s a big tribal neanderthal part of my thymus which grunts and says “yeah!” Perhaps it is that part of me that’s frightening and makes me a little “queezy” at the reaction of the crowd. Because I know, in my heart of hearts, that the violent reaction to the beer toss (even if it was the proverbial straw) was the wrong response.

I'm pretty sure we agree a lot more than we disagree.
I certainly don’t enjoy these “distractions” at game. About 15 years ago, I was at a game at Dodger Stadium where 2 idiots got in a fight about 3 rows above me. One guy ended up landing in the row directly behind me. Since I was with my wife and kids, it was not an unwelcome distraction. I went there to see a game, not to see a drunken fool getting smacked for a loop.
On the other hand, I really get irritated by similar drunken fools. I’m sure you have attended events where a loud-mouth, obnoxious prick ruins the enjoyment for others. Aren’t there times when you’ve wanted to smack the SOB to end everyone’s nightmare? I know I have.
Again, for what is shown on these 2 videos, I don’t know the specifics. I agree that a brawl is ultimately not the best solution. But when a jerk (little guy in the first video seemed like a real provocative jerk) get’s punched, a part of me says “Hell yeah!”. They have been dispensed a level of street justice that no law can duplicate or improve upon. Sorry to say, but some of these bastards won’t respond to reasonable pleas to behave better. They earn a punch in the face.

Easy for you to say it was the wrong response
Because you are just an observer. Hard to know the circumstances here. But, let’s say like sothball alluded to, that the drunk white guy was using racial slurs. That + the beer toss = beatdown. I am not going to condone any of the behavior in the fight, but it’s hard to say it was the wrong response without knowing the complete circumstances.
I was at a Bees game a few years ago where some yahoos were allegedly using racial slurs towards pitchers of the opposing team down the 3rd base line in the bullpen. Fortunately, they were escorted out before it erupted into a brawl like Pacers-Pistons melee a few years ago. We all agree that was ugly, I’m sure.
If the jerks used racial slurs, then I feel like Air Mike should have punched their heads in and would have been justified doing it.
Here’s hoping more information comes out about this incident.

Kids?
But what if you’re at the game with your family and the big dude runs over your 7 year old trying to get at the little dude (you can see he had no concern for anyone between him and the other guy).
It doesn’t really matter what the circumstances are. He was NOT defending himself and he was never in physical danger. Legally this was mutual combat and I’m surprised that stadium security let him go back to his seat.

They treat it like a bar fight
He was provoked and was not so drunk that he could not explain what happened. The goal is to extract the worst offender, not everyone who just got caught up in the ruckus.

If someone threw 2 beers on me like that………it’s on!
The fact that Air Mike could have put a lot more work in on those two, and didn’t…I applaud!

oops i also forgot to write a relevant reply
i agree with everything you have to say. i imagine its indicative of human baseness. the romans cheered for the gladiators and we cheer for the big guy who had beer thrown on him.

Do not discard The Law Of Unintended Consequences
It actually applies a lot outside the courtroom.

the girl
who is talking in the video is really annoying…i can’t stand her laugh either

If she's the one who took the camera away from whoever had it in the previous film
then I really dislike her. What the heck was she trying to film that was more immediate than the action her husband/boyfriend was shooting? Or did he hand it to her to go help his buddy out?

I think if everyone is cheering that much for the return of The Big Guy
the Little Man must have been making an ass of himself for everyone to be that happy happy

I think so too.
I was worried about the two ushers getting beat up by the activity around them.
You almost can’t see usher #2 because she’s short and she’s standing in the row below the one where the fight occurs.
