Tigers Acquire Jarrod Washburn

The Tigers acquired pitcher Jarrod Washburn from the Mariners, according to Mike Salk of ESPN radio in Seattle. Jon Paul Morosi and Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports agree, saying the Mariners will get Luke French and another prospect.

French is a soft-tossing lefty (average fastball is 87 mph)

He doesn’t induce groundballs and he doesn’t strikeout many. Which means he’s the kind of pitcher who can shutout the Angels. ;)

Branyan is their best offensive player this season

His OPS is higher (currently .896 vs. .862 for Ichiro)
Branyan also has a higher wOBA (.379 vs. .376).
He is also way ahead of Ichiro with regards to ISO (.275 vs. .107)

well

you can’t really compare a slap hitter’s OPS to a power hitter’s OPS, and BA is WAY higher for Ichiro, he plays luminous defense, and everybody study his match
