Reclaiming the inside part of the plate
Anyone watching the game on TV agree with what Physioc or Hudler said that the pitchers need to start throwing inside....I mean come on, how in the world do we have Doyer-reject Andruw Jones go deep on us 3 times tonight? I'm not talking about starting a brawl but we need hitters to fear our pitchers and we dont have anything close to that right now except for maybe Jered Weaver. It's time this pitching staff takes a look at themselves and starts figuring out how to brush back a few hitters.

Physioc is full of dhit
HE is a parrot. Credit Rex Hudler for this observation, definitely a good point about our pussy patrol – oops, i mean our starting rotation. Phyzz is just a jackass with a flappy tongue.
Everytime he sounds more excited when the opposing team does anything at all
it makes me want to punch my radio.
Examples:
If something happens on our team, in a big moment:
“And Torri hits one, its deep, its gone. And the Angels are up 3-2”
If something happens for the opposing side:
“THERE IS A DRIVE, ITS BACK, ITS DEEEEP, ITS WAAAYYYY GONE! DUSTIN PEDROIA, THE SPARK PLUG 5’2 AMAZINGNESS ON BOSTON JUST HIT THE BALL WAY OUT! HE IS AMAZING! JUST LIKE THAT RUN IN 04 WHEN THE RED SOX CAME BACK FROM A 3-0 HOLE TO WIN THE ALCS AND EVENTUALLY OUR HEARTS!”
I hate him
I brought sexy back, but they only gave me store credit....
Have to agree
The problems start with the lack of control by Lackey, and Santana’s inability to throw his hard stuff. Ervin ditched all his secondary pitches, and he’s now a two-pitch pitcher. There’s nothing intrinsically wrong with that, but it leaves him almost no room for failure, and in this case, without his heat (and typically these days, his command), he’s in trouble — a lot of it.
Witty .sig goes here.

Colon was supposed to make a rehab start today
But was AWOL for the last few days – I guess kind of what happened with the Red Sox at the end of last season.
Or is Kendry perhaps the one who needs to sit?
F phys
im not gonna listen to whatever comes out of his dumbass mouth again
Please get rid of Speier and Aybar. And Jepsen. R.I.P. Nick Adenhart, Marquis Cooper, Steve McNair
How do you think this can happen when
Big John gets tossed for trying this without getting a warning first.
going inside is different from throwing behind and then plunking
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
seriously
I was saying this to my brother all night, it’s not the first time Hud has talked about it either, we are afraid to pitch inside to Boston as well and for the most part any other team.
Who cares if lackey got tossed, this team is pushing us around. Nolan Ryan commented when he was observing the Rangers shoddy pitching when he started working for the team in 07 about how their pitchers never pitched inside and looked afraid on the mound.
We should take nolan ryan’s advice, the team he is working for has, and they’re currently in first.
If we want to win, we have to have some confidence, confidence comes from pitching batters inside and taking control of the strike zone.
This is the most frustrating pitching squad I have seen on the mound in a long time.
#34, never forget.
Funny this is brought up facing Texas
Nolan Ryan style pitching.needed here. Someone gets 3 homers off your club, gotta put him on the ground. Nobody is afraid of our pitchers (or our hitters.)
The problem maybe inexperience
You have to send a message by pitching inside, but it is kind of bush league to be having fringe MLB relievers doing it, particularly guys with not a whole lot of service time. You are still trying to find your footing as a big leaguer, not piss off another team.
Or is Kendry perhaps the one who needs to sit?
seriously.
someone needed to get one in the ribs. But Soth has been doing this for years.
"Yeah, well…if fuckin’ Gandhi threw up a 5.70ERA, it doesn’t make him a great pitcher. " CKOD
The grin on Andruw Jones face got bigger with each HR...
…like “look at the gifts these pitchers keep giving me”. 4 HR’s in 2 games, and not ONE pitch that would have moved him back just a little off of the plate. And the looks on their faces in the dugout!
We are so kind and generous…I guess we will serve tea and crumpets to the Spankees.
i hope our team actually took notice of those smiling punks in the dugout.
and comes to play with a chip on their shoulder next time Texas comes around.
No need for beaning anybody. Just some inside pitches to re-establish control over the strike zone. I felt some inside pitches were needed.
My buddy and I while sitting in 239 last night during Jones’ 3rd AB were saying that exact thing. Then BOOM, he hits the third one. Congrats for Jones, but man, our pitchers could have pitched him inside.
I love this team.
I was thinking the same thing after seeing the highlight of his 2nd HR.
He STOOD at the plate and watched it go out. My first pitch in his third at bat would have been right under his damn chin, if not just to claim the inside part of the plate, but as an F-you for showing me up. I’m starting to get quite fed up with our pitching staff not showing more fire in their belly.
Phys: Well, Coon doesn't have a lot of power but he's a good bunter
Coon: F$%# That!
Thanks Zu
Thompson
I fully expected Thompson to hit the guy after Jones and Byrd homered off him, but then he goes and throws a first-pitch curve. TRY MIXING IT UP A LITTLE BETTER PRIOR TO CONSECUTIVE HOMERS!!
And f’ing hit a guy already.
Like that's worked so well for Vicente Padilla
who got his ass put on waivers earlier in the year after he sucked. Sometimes, the problem is not what the booth bozos tell you.
Witty .sig goes here.
I am still confused by how all that worked out...
We don't have a Bullpen. We have a Cowpen. Before we get to call it a Bullpen these guys gotta grow a pair.
Crybaby Tex was bitching at Padilla purposely plunking numerous guys in the past with no rhyme or reason
Texas management felt like ‘this guy is borderline nuts, we can’t have that type of influence on our pitchers.’
They waive him to kind of send a message that his antics will not be tolerated – no one claims him and he’s back on the team doing what he has always done when healthy and in the right mindset.
Or is Kendry perhaps the one who needs to sit?
The game was getting away from the Angels
Thompson gave him a big fat one just to challenge him and see what would happen.
Or is Kendry perhaps the one who needs to sit?
I wonder how much of the blame goes to Butcher?
Maybe it’s “the grass is always greener”, but we used to pitch inside when Bud Black was the pitching coach.
Angels fan since '67
speaking of bud black
how much longer will he be the manager of the pads, and can we have him back then (no complaints about Butch, but Black is just really good)
That'll only happen if that one prospect is the second coming of Christ and redemption for mankind can only be achieved by smacking many balls out of the yard.

Totally agree,
Look at Pedro Martinez, you get a rep for pitching inside and you can lead the league ti hit batsmen and not get tossed
