waivers
Stupid question here about waivers: Since GMJ has a no-trade clause (which he could choose to waive), are the Angels allowed to place him on waivers this month (and be forced to pull him back if he does not agree to the trade), or are "no trade" players forbidden to even be placed on August waivers?

His no-trade clause has a clause that allows him to be traded for and extra 500 grand and his approval…
Anyone can be waived, if they clear waivers they can then be dumped and paid their full salary.

Correct
Alex Rios has a no-trade clause for 2009 and 2010.
That didn’t stop him from being waived.
