A lineup with 9 .300 hitters?
If Mike Napoli can increase his average a few points, he's at .294 right now, and Torii can get back soon, then the Angels could possibly throw out a lineup with every single player batting .300.
Right now it's
Figgy 300
Abreu 313
Vlad 303
Hunter 305
Morales 301
Rivera 307
Napoli 294
Aybar 307
Izzy 301
Is there any way to see if that feat have every been accomplished this late in the season or with every player having a certain number of ABS? Vlad is the lowest at 208.
Anyway I would love to see an all .300 lineup even for one day. I realize the chances of it aren't all that great since like everyone even right now is one bad week from going to like 280, but still it's impressive that they even have a chance IMO.

It's something I've never seen before, certainly. Gotta get Naps' batting
average up a few more points.

but he's still hitting damn good
i remember last year he was hitting like .260 so this is an improvement

Actually, Naps was better last year...
His average ended up at .272, but his OBP is the same both years. Basically he is drawing fewer walks this year per PA.
Also, he has dropped 60 points of SLG% this year too. While I am perfectly happy with Napoli v. 2009, v. 2008 was better by kind of a lot. But, he was wildly inconsistent last year and he has been really steady this year – so that has to count for something.
RIP Nick...

He's probably purposefully lowering his SLG, focusing on hitting singles to get that BA to .300 in an effort to get some more playing time.
Once he becomes a .300 hitter with no power, Sosh will have no reason not to write his name on the lineup.
Okay, that’s a cheap shot and the implication is no longer accurate this year. But, if I had written this last year, well it would have been a moderately funny comment.

this offense is pretty amazing...
these are the type of numbers i project at the beginning of a season as a completely irrational, homer fan. but the realism sets and you lower the averages, hr’s, rbi’s, obp, etc.
I remember attending a few Indians-Angels games in 1995...
where both teams had nearly everyone above .300. It was unreal. Hopefully, that’s where the similarities end between that team and the W6G team.
I love this team.
Howie has to be in the lineup
Izzy obviously will still play a good amount, but Aybar and Howie are the primary starters.
Meh. Give it another 3 weeks and HK will be hitting .300 too at this rate.

It's no joke
He already is at .273, up from .227 on July 7.
dude you gotta give it up for might mouse, he really hits some clutch homers. Aybar and Might mouse are my two favorite non-star players this year along with naps.
In Kobe we trust!
I do believe in the W6G philosophy
however, i do think this surplus of middle infielders could have helped us get another pitcher.
But I am happy to see that recently (as in this series with the rays) we haven’t really needed that much pitching help… anyway Let’s Go Halos!
