Look how long Bobby Abreu's arm is...

John Lackey had to be the ace of the Angels' staff Friday night after Jered Weaver got slapped around on Friday. He danced around 7 hits in 7 innings pitched, allowing only 1 run and got his 8th win of the season.

The Angels remain 4.5 Games ahead of the Texas Rangers in the AL West.

The big hit was a Juan Rivera bases loaded single that would have only allowed one run had Adam Jones not made an error. It cleared the bases after Oriole outfielder's miscue.

The Angels did all of their scoring in a 5-Run 3rd inning, when they batted around, bashing around Oriole Rookie Brian Matusz in his Camden Yards debut. I was at a wedding and missed the game, but checked the final score on my phone and all this news was almost as good as the cake. That is how good the cake was, because the Angels needed a sweet start by Lackey and the Frosting of a Robb Quinlan RBI and a Brian Fuentes 1-2-3 save with 2 on and no out in the 9th is pretty sweet. But it was damn good cake.

Quinlan is clearly the Panther here

He hit 2-3. Much more than he’s capable of. XD

Time for the Angels pitchers to get back to work! Go Angels!

A lot of our hitters are slumping

Chone and Aybar look like they’re hot again

Vladdy is being awesome. :D

Rivera is doing pretty well.

Morales is slumping a tad.

With Torii back we can easily give Abreu a day to rest.

Well, more easily.

Let's do this for Nick Adenhart, Courtney Stewart, and Henry Pearson.

Not to be a problem but ....

… okay, I’m gonna be a problem. Has anyone ever discussed how good Maicer Izturis is, considering he had to be born, like, at least two month’s premature? Seriously, his birthday (September 12, 1980) and his ‘brother’ Cesar’s (February 10, 1980) are just seven month’s apart. I’m no biologist, but ,,, methinks Cesar’s DOB is a little fudged … really, does he even look 29?
