Rangers release Padilla
Everyone's favorite fugly dude has been released from the Rangers. Wonder where he will end up. Personally, I would be pissed if the angels signed him.

Not the same thing
The link above was regarding Padilla being DFA’d.
As the linked story clearly states, this starts a 10-day process, during which the team tries to trade the player. At the end of that time—yesterday, in this case—if the player isn’t traded, then he is formally released as a free agent.
The story in this thread’s headline is the confirmation that Padilla is a free agent.
