Span wants the Angels out of Minnesota
"Thank God they're getting out of here," Twins right fielder Denard Span said. "The last two days, they were just pretty much stealing our lunch money, kicking our butts."
I've been an Angels fan my entire life and the times the Angels offense have clicked like this for such an extended period have been few and far between.
Well done Angels!

I wish it had been the Red Sox* instead of the Twins, but take it one game at a time.

My all friends like this team & they are getting full enjoyment through it. Every player this team played very well & with luminous resistance power. Overall this is my all time favorite team.

Can't wait for Texas to roll into town again...
because this Angels club is almost running at 100% capacity and once Torii returns (not too high on Vlad though; he’s not nearly as important this season) it’ll be more like 120%. This offense is absolutely OVERPOWERING right now!!! Not only can they play small ball, they can also knock ‘em out it with the best of ’em and (thanks to Abreu’s presence) the lineup’s finally taking a few more pitches than in seasons prior. This is the kind of balanced attack managers like Scioscia could only dream of putting together with the right mix of players at the right time…and it looks as though the time could be NOW! Heck, the starters don’t even have to pitch all that well to win as long as they can go 6 and give up no more than 4 or 5 runs tops. Plus with the pen finally being straightened out and a rock-solid defense backing up those arms, who’s to bet against them at this point??? My goodness…

if it aint broke dont fix it.
The angels should keep torri and especially vlade out of the lineup while we are on this hot streak. Send them to Salt Lake for extended time until they really get their swings back.
having those guys well rested and in the grove for texas and boston will be most helpful for us.

Then you will have one very athletic angry black man with lots of attitude,
and one very big pissed off Dominican both mad at you because they are very eager to participate and contribute to the team.

Last Angel to play the Grove was Scott Spiezio. And I heard it was horrible.
I love this team.

Most teams
Who score 15 runs in a series do pretty well….not this time.
If only our pitching was as consistent as our offense. Big red machine anyone?
by TheAntiSox on Aug 2, 2009 9:43 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Agreed
I’m glad that our offense is doing so well. It definitely helps that a lot of guys are getting consistent ABs (Juan and Kendry come to mind). But if we want to do well as the season wears on, our pitching is going to have to get its act together.
Seeing us score 15 runs in a game is all well and good if we win; but if we give up 10 runs in the process, I’m concerned. Hopefully, we can correct this problem before we get to the playoffs.

Fun Facts:
The Angels, who have won 13 of 15 games and are 16-3 in their last 19 road games, banged out 15 hits after amassing 19 hits in an 11-5 victory Friday and 18 hits in an 11-6 win Saturday.
That marked the first time in the franchise’s 7,752-game history that the Angels, who lead the major leagues in batting average (.290), runs (590) and hits (1,040), have had 18 hits or more in consecutive games.
The 35 runs were two shy of the club record for runs in a three-game series, set against Kansas City in August 2004. The 52 hits were two shy of the club record for hits in a three-game series, set against the Yankees in August 1988.

The angels are really fun to watch right now.
I’m a bit worried about the whitesox since they wont 2/3 from the yankees, in high scoring games.
Good news however we wont have to play mr. perfect since burehle took the mound today! we got santana, saunders and lackey coming up.
their 3rd game pitcher is TBD, so hopefully the tiger, twins keep losing and they wont feel pressured to put burehle out there

Wow what a great response
Hey ESPN take note…Best team in AL destroys the Twins and they are no place on your front page or mlb front page…if this had been a statement towards the Red Suxx or the Yankees…it would top story…
by blues911 on Aug 3, 2009 8:07 AM PDT reply actions 0 recs
are you surprised
I was watching ESPN and they asked if any of their staff felt that the Halos could be the favorite in the playoffs and only one person said maybe. Tells you what they think of the Angels over there. Seriously until we destroy the Red Sux in the ALDS, the Skankees in the ALCS and the Doyers in the WS, the Halos will always be treated like a second class team.

1995 comes to mind.
I remember the summer of 1995 when the offense just crushed. Something like 11 straight games with 10+ hits. They were awesome that year. Edmonds, Phillips, Salmon, GA and others I am forgetting. This offense is better.

Don't ever forget Jorge Fabregas or Andy Allanson
and most of all … THE WONDER DOG!
I love this team.
by Downing Rules on Aug 3, 2009 4:34 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, '09 club MUCH BETTER...
After all, Kendry Morales > J.T. Snow (offensively speaking, of course), Mike Napoli > Jorge Fabregas (lol), Erick Aybar > Gary DiSarcina, Howie Kendrick/Maicer Izturis > Damion Easley/Rex Hudler. Yeah, ‘09 club would’ve dismantled the Big Unit piece by piece in that 1-game playoff with Seattle…but that’s just my honest opinion about it, lol.

well the 95 club had the superior OF
GA, Edmonds and Salmon probably the best OF of all-time for the Angels
