I’m pretty impressed with the video quality, also.

Pretty quick on his feet

not quick enough, though.

I’d love to be a player in that situation, so I could just casually stick out my foot or something and watch him go flying.

that jackass wasn’t carrying a knife or something. I’d freak out a bit if some moron came running at me on a ball field. Remember that crazy kid and his dad in Chicago…

Stupid-ass fans

You just never know. The way we let every idiot buy guns and other implements of violence – I’m surprise there hasn’t been a shooting at a game (on the field) yet.

later became our AA manager, I think.

Tom Gamboa. According to Wikipedia he started managing the Arkansas Travelers in 2005

but Bobby Margallanes is listed as the current manager. Gamboa is listed as part of the San Diego Padres staff for this year.

Yeah, I didn't think he was anymore

I just remember hearing about it when he was hired, and saying “isn’t he the one who was jumped by those two assclowns?”

Tanana up above mentioned that this was 38 years ago.

I don’t think the fans have gotten any saner since then, either.

was the NFL player leveling the drunk fan who ran onto the field and picked up a ball.

The two ass-hats who jumped the first base coach were in 2002.

Oh. I guess I did know that. Duh.

We’ve been really lucky that some idiot hasn’t gotten onto a field in a stadium and done something really bad to a player. Really, really bad.

Speaking of gun control...

Have you tried to buy ammo lately? I think it’s probably easier to get weapon grade plutonium than .40 or .45 ammo right now.

Yeah!

It’s usually the first place look. They are out every time I go! Major ammo shortage because everyone figures Obama is going to outlaw guns or something. People are stocking up and it’s just real hard to find right now!

Gun show, dude

Once every two months in Costa Mesa. Plenty of ammo to be had, and much cheaper than Big 5 or a gun store

Or order online – even cheaper

We are the Los Angeles Angels of the late 2000s

by Higz on Aug 21, 2009 12:25 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well, I hate Walmart so I would recommend Higz's suggestion.

Or call a local gun dealer’s shop. I know there has been a run since the election* but I would think they’d know when they’re getting new stock in.

I never quite understand...

1) Why people cheer these fools. This stooge’s 15 seconds of fame consist of disrupting a baseball game in progress? Quite an achievement…
2) Why the police are booed when he’s tackled. What the hell do people expect the police to do? Ignore the fool? Let him keep running?

I also assume the videographer was a friend of this jerk. The camera was rolling prior to dipshit jumping over the wall. Dumb and dumber.

I don't know...

but I love it when people run on the field. Good comedy! Especially when they get tackled.

When you're an Orioles fan

A last-place team isn’t giving you a lot to cheer for, especially when they’re losing 9-3 like they were at that time. In that case, I guess you have to make your own entertainment.

And then if this happened:

it would be the most interesting thing to happen at an Orioles game since Jeffrey Maier started the legend of the faux-clutch Jeter.

They charged him with drinking harmful intoxicants,

after they put out the fire on his chest caused by the Taser. Harmful intoxicants = booze? They make it sounds like he was drinking gasoline so it’s his fault the taser lit him up.

I find the beach balls annoying, but I wouldn't be applauding him either.

I’m just a big ol’ stick in the mud, I guess.

I don’t even like the wave any more, except for that one stadium that did it (was it last year? was it at one of the games that was moved because of snow?) where they did it at different speeds. That was fun to watch.

Perspective People Perspective

a look throughout sports history will show that 99.99% of IDIOTS who run out onto the baseball field during games are doing it for selfish reasons and NOT to harm anyone.
Is it STUPID: Yes Is it Entertaining: Depends… Should it ever be done: NO!

But with all of that said, what do you do? Depending upon the situation/point in the game, it is a semi entertaining stupid Interuption of the game. AND is ALMOST ALWAYS HARMLESS to the well being of everyone but the IDIOT running on the field.

Whatever! Now if all of sudden there is a new craze of hot scantilly clad women running on the field, I don’t think that too many people would be complaining and dare I say, the world Entertaining would be being used more often than not in describing these “stunts”.

I was at the last Angels home game with my two young boys when the last IDIOT ran onto the field. While the majority of the fans were cheering him on and ME and my boys were laughing, I made it a point to tell them just how stupid and irresponsible this bozo was.

Let’s keep this all in perspective.

Oh, and the reason more of the players don’t level these fools is because they don’t want to sued !

When I'm not at the stadium, I'd rather be watching my Halos back in Costa Rica!
