Tidbits
Mike Napoli, who figures to be back in the lineup, is one homer shy of tying the club record for career blasts by a catcher. That mark is shared by Bengie Molina and Lance Parrish. Napoli has 60 dingers, with 17 coming this season in 306 at-bats. According to Stats LLC, his homer-per-at-bat ratio of one every 16.1 at-bats is the best ever among catchers with at least 50 homers. … Napoli is batting .373 against lefties, and the Angels are 13-2 when he’s in the No. 5 spot in the order. He’s batting .327 on the road in 171 at-bats. … Jose Arredondo’s five strikeouts on Friday night in three innings tied the season high by an Angels reliever. … Rookie level Orem of the Pioneer League had its franchise-best 15-game winning streak snapped by Helena, 4-3, in a seven-inning nightcap of a Friday doubleheader. The Owlz prevailed, 9-8, in the opener. Left fielder Richard Cates (.310), catcher Carlos Ramirez (.376) and first baseman Dillon Baird (.387) all homered in the first game. Shortstop Michael Wing (.316) went deep in the nightcap. Second baseman Kevin Ramos had four doubles and three RBIs and is batting .333.
Miss you Nick...! RIP
