What is the Angels Best Route to the World Series?

I was pondering recently what would be the best result of the Wild Card Race, as it pertains to the Angels chances for advancing in the playoffs to get to the World Series.

Star-divide

As things stand right now, there is basically no chance that we will play the Yankees in the Wild Card Round.

So, with that being said, would you rather see the Red Sox or Rays win the wild card, meaning we would play them in the 1st round, or would you like to see the Rangers win the Wild Card, meaning we would play the Tigers or the White Sox in the 1st round.

Vote on your choice for the Best Route for the Angels to make the World Series and let me know what you think.

best route to the world series

1. Our starting rotation gets its ass in gear.
2. We hold off Texas.
3. We get to the post season and pray to the spaghetti monster that we win it.

#34, never forget.

Be the hottest team at the start of the playoffs

Play your toughest opponent in the first round, beat them, then you’ve got momentum heading into the ALCS and World Series.

Wait, I am confused...I thought the Wild Card played th team with the best record...

Which would mean that the Sox/Rays/Rangers would probably play the Yanks while we played the White Sox of the Tigers.

Isn’t that why we played the Red Sox last year? They had the wild card, we had the best record….

Do it for Nick '09

But you can’t play a team from your own division.
Rangers win the wild card lose to the bronx bombers in 7.
We take detroit in 5.
We own the yankees A$$ so we take them in 5.
World series we take the Dodgers in 6 and lackey and santana exorcise the curse of Manny’s bat

Sox can't play the Yankees.

Wild Cards aren’t allowed to play a team from the same division in the first round for some dumb reason I haven’t been able to figure out.

Exit Katella...

Follow the signs. Orangewood Ave will work just as well.

Apologies in advance.

by Red114 on Aug 25, 2009 4:34 PM PDT reply actions

You really exit Katella? I mean, I guess it’s from where you’re coming from, but I find the best way to enter is exit at Ball, turn left on Sunkist, then turn left at the light right after the train tracks which will lead you straight into the stadium. Rarely (if ever) is anyone else doing that so you slide in like there isn’t even a game that day.

Never give away your stealthy entrances. They will no longer be stealthy.

I love this team.

Granted

But the point of my response wasn’t to provide actual directions. It was a joke. And I’m willing to bet that the people who don’t live around here are more likely to have heard of Katella, than Ball.

Apologies in advance.

The best route to the WS title?

Exit stadium using Gene Autry Way, take I-5 north to LA. Take the N Broadway exit and break left. Make a right onto Bishops Road, and then another right onto Stadium Way. Follow the signs to the stadium. Kick their ass. Return home with trophy.

We don't have a Bullpen. We have a Cowpen. Before we get to call it a Bullpen these guys gotta grow a pair.

Hey c'mon!

A little credit here? :-)

Apologies in advance.

Nope. You took Katella.

Not only that, you failed to navigate to Doyers Dump. No prize for you! : )

Didn't think there would be a reason to

Parking at Dodger Stadium could be a problem with the Ravine lots packed to capacity with vehicles for the RV show. I thought it would be better to leave out directions to a stadium where no baseball will be played once the Series starts.

Apologies in advance.

This is how i want it to happen

ALDS: sux and clinch in boston i want beckett on the mound game 4 and i want us to be down 5+ runs and come back. And i want big mami to come up in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs bases loaded and i want that “clutch” hitter to get K’d by the Funtuesarus

ALCS: Yankees clinch in Anheim of LA and CC on the mound Game 5 us up by 1 in the top of the 9th 1 out Jeter gets on Damon gets a double, 2nd and 3rd, Teixeira comes up and gets Kd than Mr. October himself (A-Roid) comes up and hits the ball out of the park… but than Torii brings it back of course : )

WS: vs Dodgers Game 7 Adenharts Dad, Mom, Brother, and Jon Wilhite throw out the first pitch. Weavers on the mound and just shuts the Dodgers down while are offense scores 8+ runs and Vlad hits 3 HR

but I dont care if any of that happens (besides the first pitches) as long as we win the World Series

But then have they/we really won?

If you can’t overcome the monster, have you really won at all?

Or, in the words of a great (thing?):

“You must confront Vader, or a Jedi you are not!”

Haha

Would just have that much more meaning if the two Sux teams were beaten on the way—really overcoming the team’s demons that way, no? :-D

To give us the realistic best chances?

Probably play the Rays, then the Tigers…or something like that.

Opponents

Boston falters late in the season, Rangers take wild card by 2 games.
Angels sweep Detroit in LDS.
Rangers beat Yankees in 5.
Angels and Rangers play classic 7 game series. Angels win it in bottom of 9th in game 7 on a three run jack by Aybar.
World series is anticlimactic as Angels sweep Dodgers. Lackey and Weaver destroy curse of Manny by whiffing him every at bat.

P.S. Free agents are so thrilled at winning the series, they all agree to return next year at a 25% increase.
