Looking on the Brighter Side

We just endured losing 3 straight and 4 of our last 5, yet we still have a 5-game lead over the Texas Rangers. DOESN'T THAT GET YOU PUMPED???

Star-divide

Now, I know that the game that snapped that 3-game losing streak was an ugly one. Runners LOB, awful strikeouts, and whatnot. And there's no telling if this is just one win among many more losses. But considering the circumstances, it's hard to believe the Angels emerged from this little stretch of terror relatively unscathed. I believe the Rangers had a 6.5-game deficit, or something like that, before we lost 2 of 3 to Toronto then 2 more to Detroit. That's 1.5 games gained, people. All things considered, its still good to be a Halo fan.

I think today's win was encouraging, but I think the answer is "maybe'.

I don’t think three games is much of a streak.

THIS… IS… ANAHEIM!!

Very true.

And our post-ASG record is still stellar.

Just look at it this way

if we went a very mediocre 20-17 the rest of the way, the Rangers would have to go a STELLAR 25-12 just to tie us in the division.

We’re very much in the driver’s seat.

And that's exactly why...

we (fans) should not crap twinkies if we see Robb Quinlan or GMJ in the lineup. Get those guys some AB’s and more importantly, rest our starters as much as possible while still maintaining the division cushion.

I love this team.

I would still like to finish with the best record so we get to host N.Y. for the ALCS

Was no slump

The Halos just completed a 6-4 road trip that ended in Toronto. Then came directly home to challenge a Central Division leading Detroit team that was already well adjusted to the second best time zone in the United States.

And the first two games were ruled by the closer of the Tabbies. One 100mph throwing Mo-Fo named Fernando Rodney.

For the past three, or four, seasons. The halos have never been good at winning the first game of a stand. Home, or away. And any game in Canada has always been a struggle. Be it wins, or loses.

So all in all, they were just other games in a 2009 mid season road trip from hell.

Boy-oh-Boy

are we going to find out what playing baseball is about.

Tex has it the easiest, then NYY, then Bos, then us. Who made up these schedules? Texas only has us to worry about during the last month of the season. It seems that the Yanks got every Thursday off during the month of September.

If we can win the next five, and go .500 the rest of the way. At what pace would the Rangers have to play to beat us? 28-9.

W6G, LETS GO HALOS
