With Palmer pitching 3 innings tonight
and Loux just DFA’d, and Rat-Rod being hit by a pitch, who is going to pitch if Bell goes 2 innings? Quinlan?
some short armed action
it could work

It must be acknowledged Cahill is only 21 years old and is one of the most highly touted pitching prospects in the game.
Bailey is a young phenom as well.
With a record of 6-12
Oh sorry, 7-12

He gets crappy run support.
He hit the Angels during an offensive slump, while he’s pitching his best ball of the season and has dropped the curve that was his big weakness.
~Till the Halo burns out...
Guy has a 4.86 ERA
Also his 3rd start this year against the Angels and all of them have ended with the Angles on the short end of the stick.
By the way you see good pitching in the playoffs as well, often when they are at their best

Remember how everyone was saying that once August hits...
the Rangers pitchers will falter like they do every year? It’s not happening. The Angels need to break out of this slump or they’re in some hot water.
The time is out of joint; oh cursed spite, that ever I was born to set it right.
by chairmanofthebar on Aug 27, 2009 10:27 PM PDT reply actions
Yes they are
But better slump now than slump in October…if they make it there…and what better way to enter October than on the back of trumping the Rangers for the Division on the second to last day of the season?
RIP Nick Adenhart.

Can't think of anything more satisfying
Or nerve-wracking.

Right
Nail-biter indeed…I’m remembering the Halos did something similar in 2005…but beating the Mariners close to the end of the season in 2007 didn’t turn out so hot for us, did it?
RIP Nick Adenhart.

Also, keep in mind
Even if it IS too early to be thinking about these things this year:
Angels Magic Number = 33
Rangers Magic Number = 42
Not quite neck and neck, though the Rangers could have a handle on the meaning of life…still, that lead’s not quite big enough!
RIP Nick Adenhart.
