Is this like one of those "stay tuned for more details at 11PM" teasers?
Only to find Rev’s nugget at the last five minutes of the show is “I think it’s Bobby Wilson.”
I love this team.
Just turned it on...waiting.
Finally get to use this mini boombox at work for some good.

Thanks to Jeff Biggs and AM-830 and sorry about the phone.

I have a friend who lives in Rosamond, and she's been telling me about it.
We own a cabin in Blue Jay and the smoke has been trapped in Daly Canyon for the past two weeks, starting with that other fire up north. Right now I am eyeing the fire in Oak Glen. It’s a long way from Blue Jay but it’s still too close.

Agreed, but ...
Not sure how a guy who doesn’t throw deep into ball games is going to help stretch out our bullpen.
I sure hope there’s one more move coming, like a decent middle reliever. Sure would’ve been nice if Justin Speier didn’t suck, Scot Shields wasn’t injured or Arredondo hadn’t taken a step back.
(Says to self: “W6G”) … all right … I’m back on.
I love this team.

Because 6 1/3 innings of Kazmir
requires less bullpen stress than 2 2/3 innings of Trevor Bell.
by Caseys Kiss of Death on Aug 31, 2009 5:35 PM PDT up reply actions 1 recs
Great comparison ...
however, Kazmir only averages 5-1/2 innings per start in 2009… That’s still 3-1/2 innings of relief needed in his starts.
In the last three years, 0 CG’s and he is regularly in the 100’s pitch count in the 6th inning. LINK to BBREF

I probably sound like a bitch again
But I think S-rod will end up having a better career then Howie. I love S-rod’s power, Howie is more of a gap hitter.
You will be forever in our hearts, Nick Adenhart.
agreed
had no choice, just imagine what might happen if we starts Bell and/or O’Sullivan in the postseason.
Division series is only 3 man rotation. Champ and World Series is 4 man I believe.
So we don’t need a 5th starter for the postseason.
You will be forever in our hearts, Nick Adenhart.
It depends
on the schedule. Some division series require 4 starters. Last year, there was debate over whether the Angels should take the shorter series (meaning fewer off days), on the theory that the Angels had a better 4th starter than Boston.
Either way we don't need a 5th starter
I think getting Kazmir is for September and next couple years since Lackey may not be back. If he pitches well he will be in the 3 or 4 man playoff rotation.
You will be forever in our hearts, Nick Adenhart.
Right-O
The fifth starter, be it Santana, Saunders or Kazmir, adds serious depth to the ’pen for the playoffs.
I don't know
You could drive a 747 through the hole in S-Rod’s swing. I think he needs the opportunity to see if it corrects itself at the major league level, but on his brief stints up here he just hasn’t made enough contact.
Still, that’s way to good of a throw-in for this deal. Kazmir will be useful, but TB definitely got the best of it.
I feel the need, the need...for speed!
Interesting
Yes usually the PTBNL isn’t the best player of the bunch at the time of the trade. I’m so confused.
You will be forever in our hearts, Nick Adenhart.
not so confusing.
Rodriguez is on the 40 man roster, meaning he would have to clear waivers to get traded. No way he gets all the way to Tampa without being claimed, hence they will “name him later” (after the season) when he wouldn’t have to clear. Basically just a loophole in the waiver rules.
nice thanks for that updates.

that sounds about right.
Remember all the hype about Alberto Callaspo? Or even Alexi Casilla? I think they’ve done a pretty good job of picking which of their plethora of middle infielders to keep. S-Rod is intriguing, but I’d be fine if hes the one to go (over Walden).

here's a crazy thought, i might not even be awake...
this could be an ambien induced sleep blogging occurrence. maybe it’s brandon wood! the organization might think that s-rod has more upside and versatility than b-wood. think about it, s-rod can play the outfield and we have some aging outfielders who need to be replaced, we have good middle infielders (aybar, izzy, howie & srod) and possibly the organization wants to re-sign figgy, keep him at third and go w/an infield of kmo, howie/izzy, aybar & figgy w/s-rod as the utility guy for the infield and outfield. oh shit i think i’m waking up…
