is not “poor leadership.”
A poor farm system, maybe…but few teams can absorb the losses they have and still hang around .500. Jose Reyes, Carlos Beltran, Carlos Delgado, Gary Sheffield, Luis Castillo, John Maine, J.J. Putz…that’s half an all-star team all by itself. No way you contend when you lose not only half a roster, but an EXTREMELY good half.
Who do the Sox call up if Bay, Youkilis, Pedroia, Wakefield, and Okajima go down simultaneously? Who do the Yankees if Jeter, Teixeira, Damon, Cano, Burnett, and Chamberlain go down?
Hell, the only team in baseball I can think of that could absorb such losses at one time has already done so…and it was US.

anything borderline that doesnt go the rangers way is a bad call and that leads to them complainin about getting none of the calls
