Sweet! Yay for Torii! Congratualtions!!
What’s the Branch Rickey Award?
We are the Los Angeles Angels of the late 2000s
From the article:
the Branch Rickey Award honors individuals in baseball who contribute to their communities and are strong role models for young people.
I guess Mark Whicker won't be winning that anytime soon

I also found this interesting tidbit on Wikipedia, the worlds most unreliable encyclopedia.
Wesley Branch Rickey (December 20, 1881 – December 9, 1965) was an innovative Major League Baseball executive best known for two things: breaking Major League Baseball’s color barrier by signing African American player Jackie Robinson and later drafting the first Hispanic superstar Roberto Clemente; and creating the framework for the modern minor league farm system, as well as introducing the batting helmet. His many achievements and outspoken Christian faith1 earned him the nickname “the Mahātmā.”
What do you need a fancy suit for, Charlie, you ain't got no job to wear it to.

This is one reason why he's my favorite player.
Not just Angel, but favorite player of any sport (tied with Tiger Woods). Great role model, and just a darn good guy. Congrats Torii.

Congrats Torii!
His comments are fantastic — you can see that he just loves working with kids. I’m so glad that we signed him to be the face of the franchise. What a true role model!
