Angels Magic Number at 7; John Lackey Ties Frank Tanana
Final Score in Arlington: Angels 10, Rangers 5
In what might have been his next to last regular season start as an Angel, John Lackey tied Frank Tanana for 4th Place all time in franchise history with his 102nd win under the Halo. And he did it with the Angels' #2 All Time Winner watching in the stands - but on behalf of the opposition. Rangers team president Nolan Ryan (138 Wins as an Angel) saw the Angel bats battle back on behalf of Big John, scoring 7 unanswered runs after being behind 5-3 to start the 6th. That made a loser out of Texas starter Derek Holland.
Finishing up a grueling road trip 3-4, the Angels bats finally awoke. Howie Kendrick was a Double shy of the cycle, his 3 hits in the game highlighted by a solo HR and a bases clearing 3-Run Triple. The Angels hit 4 HR in a rare Arlington day game. Gary Matthews Jr subbed for Bobby Abreu and was 2 for 3 with one of the RBI. Chone Figgins and Juan Rivera had solo HRs. Holland was charged with 6 ER and Texas Phenom Neftali Feliz was charged with 2 ER.
The Angels head home to face the Yankees tomorrow night. John Lackey will celebrate by taking a few teammates to the Cowboys home opener in his luxury suite. What does this mean for Frank Tanana? A solid 5th place all time for now is the worst that could come of a reinvigorated Lackey in the home stretch.

Let's hope this propels Howie into the
everyday lineup again! POTG HK!!
First we had a Salmon and now we have a Trout, let's see the same results.
I really want to see Lackey move up that list.

and Rev, shouldn't Lackey have one or two more starts in the regular season anyway.
We have 13 games left, and the magic number is 7. Lackey should start at least one more time, right???

at least one, maybe two
Saturday against Oakland and Thursday against Texas – depending on how the rotation gets slotted with the postseason in mind.
Great gane but Kendry is in a SLLLLLUMP!
4 K’s??? Did the MLB suddenly learn how to pitch to him or is he just blowing it?

hes blowing it
i feel like he got it into his head that every time he swings its going to go out of the park or off the wall. He has forgotten what has made the halo’s offense so potent this year – patience and situational hitting. Kendry is looking terrible at the plate these days. Absolutely terrible.

Let's give HGH his due.
He also had a solo shot.

Agree about 99%...
…his forgetting the number of outs was un-freakin-believable. Fortunately, it didn’t matter, but it COULD have mattered. And he still can’t seem to track a fly ball. He should have his eyes checked.
Got to give him credit for 3 RBI’s including the HR. That’s a healthy offensive contribution.
Oh, I wasn't voting for him for Panther.
Just that the Rev didn’t credit the HR like he did for everyone else.

Sounds like Howie wants to start a couple playoff games.
I say let the man have his wish.
Let's win one for Adenhart #34

But for the bad umpiring in game 2 in Boston, it would have (should have) been a grueling 4-3 road trip.
yeah
nervous time

Thanks to Texas tanking at the right time...
No Millwood, Young or Hamilton helped make that a nice end to an otherwise brutal trip…
I love this team.

how are you and Brian S going to get me your email addys?
for your 10 skinnies? I’d say email Rev and then have him forward your paypal email addresses to me that way … unless you want to meet at Tuesday night’s game (haul, I know you are in OR, so that might not be feasible).
I love this team.

Email me your address to hauldog@gmail.com.
I will email you my email address attached to paypal or whatever you need. Let me know.
Play Wood already. Willits sucks.
Bobby "the dog" Abreu
The Angels success is no thanks to Bobby “the dog” Abreu. This out-of-shape, narcissistic, player is now showing his true colors after playing over his head for a good chunk of the season. He is, and has always been, as selfish player who looks only to his own numbers and not to what it takes to help the team win. Wake up Angel fans ….. this guy is poison and will not help you get another championship.
