Pitcher Chapman awaits MLB's ruling
"Chapman has been called one of the "three great pitchers in the world right now who are not in the majors,"[1] along with Yu Darvish and Stephen Strasburg, who was drafted first in the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft."

ESPN sites the Angels, Dodgers, and Red Sox, Yankees will at least show some initial interest. A 6'4", left hander, who throws gas is definitely worth the look. Anyone know if Kendry Morales knows him personally? Maybe that could the Angels a leg up on the competition... who knows.

you know
just cause a guy is Cuban, doesn’t mean he knows the whole island.
I am white and from Italy, So I must know Mike Piazza personally…
Sure we were hanging out the other night with Frank Sinatra, and Joe Dimaggio
Quit Bitching about Wood not playing, The guy does deserve his shot but quit pretending that we have Willie Mays riding the pine

Stupid response
If you were a big band singer from the 30’s and 40’s from Hoboken, odds are you would know Sinatra. If you played professional baseball in NY at the turn of the 21st century, odds are you would know Piazza.
Morales was not a cigar roller from the hinterlands. He was on the Cuban national team. Odds are that he knows Chapman. How well, or even if they liked each other is up for conjecture.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

It can be assumed that Morales and Chapman know each other well
However whether the get along, as moondoggy says, is up for speculation

i doubt that kendry and chapman know each other well...
kendry is i believe 26 and chapman is only 21. the halos signed kendry about 4-5 years ago after he wasn’t allowed to play on the cuban national team so i think they barely missed crossing paths. however, chapman could very well be a huge fan of kendry’s because when kendry was the phenom on the island chapman was 14-15 and that’s the age when your athletic heroes are larger than life.

Correction
Morales says that he does not know Chapman:
“When I was on the national team he was just a young kid,” Morales said through an interpreter. “I haven’t heard much about him. I only know what I’ve read.”

I did not say he knew him.
There is a quote where he says the Angels should go get that guy

tell him
we have not one, but two streets (and a University) in O.C. named after him, and he’ll probably sign here right away for less money than others are offering.
OTOH, when was the last time you heard of a Cuban guy with a name like “Chapman”. I was confused.

Not just "Chapman"
Explain a Puerto Rican named “Mike Lowell” and a Dominican named “Vladimir”.
