That Great Sucking Sound on Offense
It's reverse jinx time! Here's how bad everyone's been sucking on offense, and for how long:
GMJ, since May 23
.227/.333/.343
Rivera, since Aug. 4
.236/.286/.376
Abreu, since Aug. 8
.222/.333/.340
Napoli, since Aug. 23
.107/.180/.196
Torii, since Aug. 27
.250/.298/.393
Kendry, since Sept. 1
.230/.280/.333
Vlad, since Sept. 2
.270/.316/.392
Maicer, since Sept. 2
.263/.328/.351
Figgy, since Sept. 5
.250/.360/.368
Mathis, since Sept. 5
.188/.188/.219
Aybar, since Sept. 17
.214/.267/.286
Howie, since Sept. 21 (the day after he cracked .300)
.091/.167/.182
Note: This is, of course, designed to make everyone look as bad as possible; in fact, Howie's been hotter than hot until just a few days ago, and GMJ has been swinging a good bat lately, etc. Also, offense tends to peak in the hot summer months. But STILL.

It seems like the team has all but abandoned the "more patient" mantra.
Anybody know how to find out the percentage of pitches seen per at bat by month? I know it’s 3.88 per plate PA, but I think the breakdown month by month would show regression.
This team is our extended family, That's why we love them no matter what the record, no matter what the score.

PS...
I think Torii is still hurt…let HGH play for a week and rest the guy. We NEED a healthy Torii!

totally agree
i sit in 240 6 rows behind Tori although he still is playing good D. He is walking around very gingerly out there. He looks hurt and banged up. He is slow getting to his feet each and every time he dives. he needs a few days off to get healthy. i would assume once we clinch on Monday, he will be given 3 days off and then back at it for the A’s series
R.I.P. Nick, you are missed!

The only thing going for the Angels right now....
Is that Texas is playing worse than we are….With all the pieces in place, we can seem to score a run or win a game…16-16 in last 32 games will not get it done against the Red Sox. Hate to say it but I think we are in for another short and aggravating playoff run….5 Starting pitchers that look great on paper, the full lineup in place and we still suck….

Pack it up and cheer for the Doyers please.
Have faith my friend. What good would it do us to peak so early. The Halos had a long ass streak of consecutive games, most on the road, with no off days. Give them time to catch their collective breath, and then watch the ball fly. I can’t see every pitcher in the entire league have our bats number. Unless the fix is on. “Pagin’ a Mr. Stone. A Mr. Oliver Stone. Report directly to the League office please. Paging Mr. Stone …”

But seriously
It’s September, our magic number is low, why not give these guys more of a rest before the post-season starts and get a look at some younger guys? I would have rather lost the last two games against oakland with scrubs playing than our big guns sucking.
#34, never forget.
