Weaver skips arbitration
Looks like Weaver will also skip arbitration, agrees to a $4.265 million dollar contract. Weaver made 470,000 last year.

Yes, I'm surprised and pleased.
Rest in peace, Rory. When I think of some of the greatest moments in my Angels fandom, I hear your voice describing them. Thanks for everything you gave us.
Nice. Now we're starting to see where the Lackey, Figgins, Vlad money was intended for.

I'm glad Weaver took the raise. He earned it.
I hope this opens the door for him to get an extension at the end of the contract.

Yeah, hopefully people will stop talking about all the imaginary extra money the Angels are hording.

If you are wagging your keyboard at me, that ain't gonna happen.
I do think that Arte is hoarding money. And it is only imaginary if you choose to look the other way.
But I also think that this is a wise move at this time. The alternatives (massive contracts and/or massive loss of player personnel during a still fragile economic era, not to mention tying up funds needed for 1st round 2010 June draft selections and for the 2010 FA crop) were not very smart.
Had I owned the Pittsburgh Pirates, I could have saved America.
I'm guessing Saunders ends up getting about 3.5
based on this.
Weaver's worth 4.75
And Howie’s 1.75, both were good deals for the Angels. I’m fully expecting Saunders to get 3ish and Napoli 2-3.
I wish we could lock him up
, but with Boras as his agent, he will probably hit free-agency after 2012.
