Revenge of the RLYW's recently posted their "very early" CAIRO-edition Predictions for the AL West. Here is what they predict:

* Mariners - 87

* Angels - 81

* Rangers - 78

* A's - 77

At least they aren't as ridiculous as BP's throw-darts-at-a-board-blindfolded predictions. Everyone's favorite ESPN baseball analyst cum douchebag extraordinaire Rob Neyer thinks these CAIRO predictions are spot on. However, he does concede that this race could go either other way:

I can't stress this enough: There are at least six games of "play" in these projections; in any projections. Even if you have a perfect read on the true talent of the players, an 87-win team could almost as easily win 93 games, or 81.

Gee, thanks for the support, Rob.

Personally, I am fine with all these predictions of not winning the AL West. The Angels always work better as underdogs, anyways.
