G.A. back in Anaheim?
G.A. back in Anaheim?
Heyman is tweeting that the Dodgers and the Angels may have interest in Garret Anderson. I have no idea how much he could actually play for the Angels, but it might not be bad to have a bat off the bench or as some insurance against Matsui's bum knees (of course, G.A. has a lot issues too). I would love for him to finish out his career as a halo. I guess it could be similar to Salmon's final season.

maybe a 1 year deal to retire as an Angel but he would not really play at all.
First we had a Salmon and now we have a Trout, let's see the same results.
1 DAY deal to retire is OK.
Nothing more. We just dumped GMJ, why relive it?
RIP Nick...

Why do we need to go after anyone?
We look set to me. Maybe we don’t look unbeatable, but we look like a complete team.
No matter what happens from here on, it has been a great season.

Did we add a rover position in the outfield?
Like softball? Where the hell would Damon go? Maybe Hunter could ride the pine? Or perhaps Damon could help out at third in case Wood doesn’t work out? We’re in need of a lefty middle reliever, could Damon do that too?
1 line siggy line because I was asked nicely. Go Angels! helpfindscottajob@gmail.com
No to Damon as lefty reliever
Because he can’t throw a ball 60 feet without bouncing it.

Ah yes, saw that.
But what about the rec sign? Is that just what comes up anyway when it gets rec’d?
You’d think I hadn’t been around here for nearly 4 years already…sheesh! ;-D

up in the 526 view nosebleeds.
Thank you, Omar Minaya! Thank you, Mets (Vaughn, GMJ) AGAIN!
Sign Him and Let Him Play
Garrett Anderson is a professional hitter who I would love to have as our 4th outfielder. Obviously, Abreu starts in RF, Hunter in CF, and Rivera in LF, but do you really want Reggie Willits as the next guy in the lineup?
Pettit and Bourjos may be on the way, but I say we sign Garrett to a one-year contract and use him as a spot starter in the OF.
Hideki Matsui will primarily DH. We can use a versatility to carry 4 OF and a DH.
Light up the Freakin Halo!
The problem....
is that if he replaces Willits we don’t really have a pinch runner or defensive OF specialist. He’s certainly a better hitter though.
I just don’t see how he fits in unless we decide to carry 6 OF.
The trouble is Soth will play him every day anyway.
There’s no gettihng around it. Pass, but thanks for so many fond memories, GA! Maybe you can come back as a minor league roving coach?
RIP Nick Adenhart.

I love GA, always have.
But, much to my surprise, I’m against his return. He has very little left to offer, we have nowhere to play him, and the money that it would take to sign him, could be better used elsewhere, unless of course he’d be willing to play for damn near free, and since Bora$ is his agent, you know that ain’t happening.
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....
I have to agree, I adore the guy, but bringing him back would only be for sentimental reasons at this point
plus, we don’t need another older outfielder
Angels in 2010!
Are you sure Boras is his agent?
It was someone else the last I heard. Not that it affects his coming back here either way.

Yeah Nate, I think your right.
Bora$ probably isn’t his agent. I don’t know why I posted that, I haven’t even had a beer yet. :)
YOU DON'T KNOW THE POWER OF THE DARKSIDE.....
Damn, so I was right about Bora$.
I hadn’t heard that GA fired him, so he still probably represents him. Sorry about the flip-flopping Nate.

No room for ANY Outfielder...
Unless by trade in which we traded an outfielder as well. Other wise, go with the youth movement. I think we should carry six OF’s. Abreu, Hunter, Rivera, and matsui would be my 4, but I’m not sure Matsui should be considered an OF, but he is so, he’s my 4th. Take the battle for 5 and 6 between Willits, Bourjos, Pettit, and Evans. I’m hoping for Evans and Pettit. Pettit is a contact hitter, with speed, and decent defense. Evans a PCL All-Star, with power, speed and decent defense.
Local news was reporting GA to the Doyers.
Angels baseball. We do what we must, because we can -- HaloDutch
This makes a lot more sense...
Doyers need a lefty off the bench and someone who can start a couple days a week.
Garrett is from So Cal so this is a perfect fit.
Dylan Hernandez of L ATimes
says Dodgers are talking to Boras about GA. LAD need a replacement for Juan Pierre. Also looking at in-house candidates. GA turns 38 in June according to the article.

G.A. was great when he was here, but...
there really is no place for him…will never forget his huge hit in game 7 of 2002 WS…but once they go, they should remain gone…
