PrintObviously, 2000-2009 was the Angels' best decade in the history of the franchise. Besides 2002, what was the best year of that decade?

Results-based analysis
Eyeballing the rosters, the best three teams of those would seem to be 2005, 2008, and 2009. But 2005 was the Josh Paul Massacre, 2008 was a choke-job in Boston, and 2009 it really felt like we lost to the better team after putting up a pretty good fight. To do that in a year of tragedy, after the smarties had (once again!) predicted us to have 80something wins, all while continuing to develop a young talent core … pretty satisfying, as far as disappointments go.
2004 was fun for me.............but 2009 is my choice.
I with Matt above, however….I feel regardless of the team putting up a good fight something happened and many players made some boneheaded plays which were just unimaginable and disappointing to watch………but the guys did fight to the end……

it is VERY VERY hard to pick against 2004, when we were 3 back of Oakland with 9 games to play. and having a 100-win season was special too, but its all about the play-offs, and seeing us beat Boston made 2009 the tops for me.
You do realize
that we’re still in the first decade of the 21st century, right? it’s 2001-2010, because they started counting at 1, not zero. But so far, I’d say 2009.

You are officially correct.
But, preception is more important. A tomato is a fruit but most people think it’s a vegatable. Let it go my friend. Life is too short to worry about being “correct.” Just smile and feel superior if that’s your aim. When two or three numbers on the calander change, something big has happened. Who invites their children to scoot over and watch the odometer change from 90,999 to 91,000?
The worst “Sienfeld” scene is when Newman was perplexed when Jerry told him that 2001 was the actual new millenium.
