The lowest OBP in HOF history..
now belongs to Andre Dawson at .323. Blyleven get’s snubbed again. Maybe next year.
Maybe the silver lining is that now Garrett Anderson can get in.
One can wish.
The good news is that Blyleven was only 5 votes short...
He has 2 more years to get in, typically your percent of vote goes up each year.
Yep, one can only hope…
Time to see what Wood's got!
Dawson Fun Fact
A victim of the owners’ conspiracy against free agents after he left the Expos, Dawson signed a blank contract with the Cubs during spring training prior to the 1987 season. Then-general manager Dallas Green filled in the dollar amount of $500,000, making Dawson the second-lowest paid regular on the team.
LAME
I’ve got nothing against Andre Dawson; he was fun to watch. Not Hall worthy, really, but that doesn’t really bother me. What is LAME is Blyleven still not getting in, and Barry Larkin (an obvious HOF selection by all reasonable evaluation criteria) not garnering enough votes yet. Oh, and Tim Raines too.

One more reason to hasten the demise of newspapers in America.
Had I owned the Pittsburgh Pirates, I could have saved America.
Dawson
HAD to get in since they elected Rice last year, so I am not too mad about the selection. (Neither of whom should be in the hall in the first place, IMO)
Bert will be in next year, and rightfully so, and so is Robby Alomar.
I am surprised by how many votes Jack Morris got though. How many more years of eligibility does he have left? And it’s interesting to see McGwire get more votes than McGriff, even though Big Mac juiced it up. I am a big fan of the Crime Dog, and I think he is going to get hurt by not getting all the way to 500 HRs and not playing all his career during the “juiced ball” era (Even though they will consider him to have).
Do or do not. There is no try.
