Well, its over. The disaster of 2010 is finally over. We all analyzed and re-analyzed what went wrong over and over again. The playoffs have chewed up and spit out every team i disliked in their series', digesting the ones i was rooting for. The long 6 months untill opening day have begun and im counting down the days. But not everything this season had to offer was bad.
About mid June i started to become curious with what the angels were doing trade wise. Ive been a fan of the Angels (and to a lesser extent the dodgers) since i could pick up a glove and had just began to go become a "fanatical" fan during the trade rummor part of the season. Everything the Angels did, i followed. Around the beginning of june i stumbled upon this blog called "Halosheaven.com" I entered and read the minds of the most enthusiastic Angel fans. I remained a reader for about a month and i finally made my account. I had been blogging on other blogs, "Bungie.net" most frequently, and had some expectations for halosheaven. After i few games of commenting something amazing had happened. At bungie ther has to be at least 50,000 users, its utter insanity and it becomes quite impersonal. Here though it was different.
My first game thread i had asked a question, "What does +1 mean?" i believe it was. Instead of the flame fest i expected, somebody explained it to me and wecomed me to the community. Later that game i used the +1 an he said, " Good job, rookie!" Im not sure why, but this was one of the best blogging experiences i have ever had. From then on things were great.
I had finally found a place where i could discuss my Angel thoughts, my friends werent as fanatic as i was. The members on Halosheaven were helpfull (except Dad of Vlad) and respectful. My first Fanpost recieved some criticism but hey, its all a part of the process. After a few posts and a few weeks of game thread chit chat, i had felt at home (in a way)
One of the best thingsabout this blog is the personal toch it has and how you can interract with all the regulars and such. Rev Halofan, the uncle i never, always made a simple and intelligent post on every thread and that mde it absolutely hilarious. Halowood seemed as the minor league whiz and go to guy for info on our prospects. DOV, your attitude was always hilarious and i remember actually laughing at my computer after i read what you had posted. A few other rgulars whose nmes escape me at the moment always were fithfull and loyal to halosheaven and its posters, you truly made this an enjoyble blog. Pretty much, I want to thank everyone for the amazing half season we shared and i look forward to an off season of FA discussions and trade talks.
Thanks all,
Halos2011champs
