So, you want to work in baseball, eh?
Ever wonder what it would be like to work for a major league baseball franchise? Wonder how you make that happen? Well, it’s like anything else worth achieving; it takes hard work and dedication.
A prime example of that is represented in Ryan Cavinder’s story. Who’s Ryan Cavinder? Ryan is a Media Relations Representative with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and he was kind enough to take the time to give us an inside look at what he does, how he got there and what it’s like to be a part of a major league franchise. good article
I would imagine, the other thing about working in baseball jobs like this, since there is so much competition and it’s a dream job for so many, the pay is not very good. I would think there are very few front office folks that make substantial salaries due to the fact that many can be so easily replaced. The difference between the have’s and the have not’s must be huge between the various employee’s on Arte’s payroll.
Of course I don’t know this for sure, but if I was the owner, you pay what you need to pay to get a certain level of performance and I probably would be paying far from 6 figure salaries for anyone but the most indispensable employees. I guess the trick for these guys is how to figure out a way to put yourself in that position.
Of course, that is just like anything, but as the interviewee said, sometimes you can’t even get an intern position. Probably people lining up around the block for a crack to work for free.
It would be interesting to know how much a position like Ryan's pays.
But what a dream job it is!
I meant the OTHER Howard!
Yes, please.
That would be good off-season reading.
Or we can just speculate on Curtis Granderson’s availability
