OT, Stan the Man Turns 90
So, here's my quirky off-season past of the year. On Sunday, 11/21, Stan Musial turned 90 years old. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch had this article on 90 reasons to love The Man. There are many to love. My favorites? #2, #6, and #12 are great, but the real testaments to his character are #74-76. A man above. A man apart. What's your favorite?

The litany of accomplishments is overwhelming.
I suspect that most of the guys who usually post here don’t have the patience to read the entire list. Stan “The Man” Musial…..I remember hearing Dizzy Dean talk about him on the Falstaff Baseball Game of the Week.
No. 30 strikes me. It’s an indication of how little most modern fans know about the pure rich history of the game.
#33-#40 are an incredible build-up to a symbolic #41……It takes one to know one.
No. 42 made me laugh. It reminds me of a past sense of humor much different from the acerbic acid spewed by fans and players today. Similarly, #48, #58, and #82.
#44. Comparing Musial’s K’s to Mark Reynolds’ K’s puts modern baseball into a different perspective.
#49. Who would have believed that a time like that ever existed?
#68. Ty Cobb said something nice about somebody?
#84. I can hear Vin Scully’s voice; that says it all.
Overwhelming.
While superlatives get over-use, this really applies to Musial. The numbers speak for themselves.
Reading this list about Musial reminds me of John Wooden. Talent. Humility. Class. Dignity.
Let's face it, Stan *was* THE MAN.
Unfortunately, “Where have you gone, Stan Musial?” doesn’t scan well, so they had to use that dickhead from the MFY.

Yes, #32 is remarkable...at 41 years old!
You just wonder what type of contract he would receive in today’s market.
