The Angels need Beltre for offense and defense.  As we have seen he neatly fills the gaping maw of disappointment at the hot corner and is a very solid player.

So presuming that, how much should Arte pay?

If we can believe Rosenthal's Twittering the Rangers are likely out.  That would seem to leave us and the A's as the only teams with the need and the cash to get it done, and AB has already let the Beanecounter know that 5/64 was beneath consideration .  He seems to want 5/85 (HAH!  Good luck, son!), but maybe he wants to be on a contender more than he wants the big bucks, and that leaves...The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

At this point, with options dwindling and money drying up, the Angels are in a great position to perhaps turn it around, and make a fair (as opposed to a Borasian) offer.  And considering the HH reaction to Crawford's signing, I'd also like to see who really will care and who will be all sour grapes and stuff when this gets done (it must get done!) or not.

My metric goes like this:

5/85 Shitty deal, and if we turned it down, I'd still be disappointed, but just barely.

5/75 Also crappy, but if that's what it is, I'd be satisfied, and have a bitter taste leftover

5/65 Getting better, satisfying but biting the bullet

4/60 Liking it more,pleased with this one.

So HHers, what are the numbers you'd like, love, barely swallow or outright reject when it comes to Beltre?  I know Not A Chance/Screw You Boras will suit some, but the need is too great.
