It's a football game at Angels Stadium!

I have no rooting interest for either team (Servite-Mission Viejo in CIF Pac-5 Championship) but it's kind of cool to see football played at the home of our Angels. (Game is currently on Prime Ticket)

In the past,

they only played at the Big A when the Angels were not in the playoffs . . . I remember going in to some other site in 2005, but it was in Anaheim in 2006. I’d assume that it was there this last year, however, after 3 straight playoff appearances probably made them give up.

I've NEVER seen football at the Big A before . . .

You know what is an interesting tidbit? Anaheim Stadium was designed to accommodate football from the very beginning . . . Anaheim actively tried to get an AFL team to play at the Big A as early as 1966 and the Rams played many preseason games in Anaheim before 1980 when the stadium was expanded. The first Rams preseason game at the Big A was in 1967 versus the New Orleans Saints . . . that particular game was the first in Saints franchise history.

That I had completely forgotten the Rams used to play there? I’m definitely old enough to remember that, but they left when I was still young (I’m 27 now).

I'm 21 . . . haha.

Some of my earliest memories are going to the big A with my dad (probably 1994-95) for Rams and Angels games! I have pretty much studied the history of the Rams in SoCal though because I run a blog and facebook page dedicated to bringing them back here.

I was at MVHS

When they beat Hart for the CIF championship at Edison Field in 2002. I also had been to some rams games as a little guy, but it was really weird to see football at the redesigned stadium. Too bad my Diablos lost last night. They were having another crazy season…
