Kendry Morales Hires Scott Boras
Via ESPN:
Los Angeles Angels first baseman Kendry Morales has fired agents Alan and Randy Hendricks and signed with Scott Boras, the agent confirmed to ESPN The Magazine.
"Essentially, we had gotten a call from Kendry about a month ago and said he was interested in interviewing representation and he asked if we wanted to be one of the people he looked at," Boras said. "We had a meeting with Kendry and his wife and yesterday he informed us of his decision."

Good for Kendry
HE is not a free agent until after the 2013 season. He turns 31 in nJune of 2014. So we got his best years locked up and Boras is not a lock to win the coming arbitration years.
Saints be praised.
When I first heard that he was going to Boras my stomach dropped. Thanks for putting it in perspective. We can still root for Kendry!
Missing Garret "Groundout" Anderson
same goes for Weaver...
who is also represented by Boras.

Nothing wrong with hiring the best guy to get you the most money possible.....
Smart move.

Ask Damon and Washburn about that
I’m sure there’s a few more too.

Well the money has to be "justified" as well......

Fuck, fuck....FUCK!!!!
Might as well lock him up after this season then before his value gets even higher and higher.

I would like to see us actually sign someone represented by Boras...
just for peace of mind that the Angels FO can actually work with him.

This is as big of a 'non-addition' as you're likely to see
concerning an agent or agency. If Morales is truly under club control for 3-4 more years, then all this announcement means is that Boras’ ears are burning because Lopez kicked him to the curb, and he wanted to send a signal to his remaining players that he’s still a force.
I love to see that guy squirm.
There is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt.
Great move by Kendry
I would do the same thing. People around here don’t always make a lot of sense and are gullible when it come to releases from the FO about agents.
I love Arte as much as anyone, but I also love to see more of my money go into the players pockets than his. Agents resen every penny they get, especially the best ones.

As much as I hate this news and can't stand Boras...
I’d hire Boras if I was a player.
OK, I'm finally over losing Tex. Thanks Kendry.
Sign of the times...
At least Morales is under the Angels’ control for a couple more years…

we need to LOCK HIM UP
multi year deal soon
GO BRUINS!!!
What I thought was interesting in the article
was this:
Morales, who is scheduled to earn $700,000 this year as part of a six-year $4.5 million deal he signed with the Angels in 2005, will be arbitration eligible for the first time after the 2010 season. Boras said he would be open to discussing a long-term deal for Morales with the Angels.
Everything I’ve ever read indicates Boras never allows his players to miss the opportunity to file for free agency. I wonder if he’s taken any kind of a reputation hit because of Damon.
I was thinking the same thing.
Obviously the fact that he’s open to discuss a deal doesn’t mean he’s open to discussing a reasonable deal, but it’s out of chracter for him.
It's a shame......
This immediately and ultimately causes bad feelings and bad blood within a lot of people. This is not something I expected having to worry about while doting on my team.
I’ve mentioned before that I specifically went to the game where I witnessed Kendry’s first AB home run in Rancho Cucamonga. This announcement just took a bit of wind out of my sails.
I don't blame Kendry...
I would do everything I could to be represented by the best if they would be willing…
It’s easy to hate Boras but he’s the best at what he does and there isn’t a 2nd or 3rd place finisher anywhere near him.
I wish I was important enough to have him represent me!
Oh yeah and right when people...
…think Boras takes a hit on his rep for something (read: A-Rod firing him, etc.) he still comes out even further on top.
Just look at Matt Holliday. He made the Cards bid against themselves and get a deal better than even the most optomistic analyst ever predicted.
He works magic. Don’t know how he keeps doing it but he does.
Boras Vs Moreno
Sure Kendry is under “club” control for a few more seasons but he will be arbitration eligible after nest season and if he puts up similar numbers this years how willing will the Angels be to go to arbitration when Boras puts up a 8-10 million dollar offer out there …IMO Angels pass and get draft picks as Kendry heads to Seattle and everyone knows that Arte is not going to pay any Boras client more the he thinks they are worth
I have lived long enough to see all three of the Pro teams I suport win a championship everything else is iceing on my cake
