Here are my Day 1 pics from Tempe. The link is to pictures from this morning's work out - just a few random shots. I'll try and get back there tomorrow for some more, but too much real life to do for now.
Besides Arte Moreno's new beard I can report that Scot Shields, Fernando Rodney, and Scott Kazmir didn't work out much. It was a lot quieter without John Lackey around too. Didn't stick around to get any pictures of any catchers, and Chris Pettit was the only position player I saw. Enjoy!

thanks – i saw you call out last year but have been busy, just changed my user name with the mandatory re-enroll on SBNation a year or so ago and haven’t posted much till lately. I did get a few pics last year on Day 1 too but never published.
not only working full-time, but getting a PhD in chemical engineering, family, church – a busy productive life. i even got gigs as an extra in two movies due out later this year (‘Paul’ and ‘Let me In’). Today i’m playing photojournalist again.
You're the man.
Thanks for the pix. BTW, what church do you go to? What’s it like? We go to Spring Training almost every year (not this year with our newborn). It’d be good to have a nice church to visit.

Thanks for the pictures. Today’s Boston Globe featured pictures of John Lackey at the Red Sox camp in Fort Meyers.
I’ve made my peace with Lackey going to Boston. But, I confess that it was somewhat disorienting to see him in that uniform. Kind of like learning that one of your relatives, the friendly uncle with the funny accent, is an ax murderer.

Rodney's hat
i didn’t have time to comment about that, but its the first time i saw any Angel wear it like that. It was one of the major things that stood out today, no doubt, my first impression was ‘WTH?’ It was quite noticable.
I imagine Scios will inform him that’s not the way we do things around here. We’ll see how long it lasts. My bet its worn properly tomorrow.
As for O’Sullivan and Palmer, they looked like twins – that too came through in the pics. Scios was joking about them following each other to dinner and then said they were following him, whereby infering they were triplets related by girth.
The other set of pics were when the pitchers were huddled getting instructions, you can see Saunders, Santana and all the other ‘cool kids’ in the back row, just like school.

The Angels aren’t the Yankees, they dont f with players styles. If so those awful Vlad dreads, or Santana’s silly pants would have been gone long ago.
