PrintJeff Biggs has been reppin' Halos Heaven a lot lately on "The Drive", most recently with our in depth discussion of Arte Moreno's new beard. I figured it would be fun to give a shout out back to Biggsy and everyone on "The Drive" while we wait for the season to start. Plus, it's Friday which means it's time for distractions.
A lot of us here listen to the show as far as I can tell. I get about 30 minutes of it in during my commute from one part of San Diego to the other. It helps keep me connected to home down here outside of Angel territory. Share your thoughts and opinions on "The Drive" below.

Huge +1 to this diary. After I turned about 15, I never thought I’d listen to sports talk radio again. But Biggsy does a great job of keeping the conversation focused, realistic, measured and forward-looking…. and during the season he works about 140 hours a week.
Game's the same, just got more fierce.

Biggsy has helped me endure some long boring drives many a time.
But did you hear earlier in the week when Biggsy talked about all the complaints they are getting directed towards the “regular callers?” Apparently many listeners are perturbed that The Drive always has the same callers on the show and doesn’t stress variety, or something. Jeff was saying that he is seriously addressing that issue, but I never had any problem with those callers—several of whom you list above. If they were/are focusing on specific callers, maybe it’s because they knew they could count on those callers to have a decent ‘take’ generally. They are people who would "have a take and not suck,: as Jim Rome would have it.

As Jeff’s sidekick we appreciate the love. I’ll make sure this is a part of the High 5 and as far as favorite caller… it has to be Dale but only when he’s angry. The new happy go lucky Dale kind of pisses me off. Its like he’s back on the meds. I’ll go with LB Lenny as he is kind of the Vlad of callers he takes shots at everything and is a bit wild but when he connects its a home run. Keep listening, and we’ll keep reading.

Jeff called me out one time
I was talking smack on the new format of the show. I always enjoyed Dave Smith’s take on the Drive, but Biggs and come into his own once Jason joined the air. It got a lot better with Jason, gives Biggs someone to play off of. Still hate hearing 90% of the “Line Up” of callers.
A couple of guys are fun. But I am listen more frequently. So I guess Jeff and Jason win, because I’ve put down the ipod and listening to the drive more frequently.

Re reading this,
I realized I shouldn’t try to do too many things at once, or else I come off sounding like someone with an IQ of 75.
What I was saying that the show has gotten better with the addition of Jason. I still miss Dave Smith’s show, but the Drive has gotten a lot better. Biggs has even gotten a little better and that’s coming from someone who really didn’t like Biggs when he started.

in case I never mentioned it, the Aeron chairs in the KLAA studio are quite comfortable.
Listen just about any time you have been on.
I kind of wonder if am 830 ever goes to a complete sports radio, if they’d offer you a job on the air.

I love hearing from Greg in Ventura. Laid back, understated.. but very honest. Any time he calls in is a treat. Right after him is Mel in Fullerton, and “Angry Dale” got us all through the off season. No one else is worth mentioning…… but Jeff and Jason ROCK!!!!

Fello Angel Honks,
At first I was annoyed at LBL’s comments on The Drive. I heard his signature email sign off and emailed him a piece of my mind. To my shock Lenny emailed me back with a very nice email & at the same time defended his views. I’ve then emailed Lenny back and forth and we met up with a few of his friends at the OC Sports Grill across from the stadium and shot 9 ball. My mind is totally changed on this guy. He can cover a lot of sports including Old School Angels and current players. He’s also the director of a basketball league in the city of Paramount that has 200 people that play. Both an A & B division for skilled players and weekend warriors. I was on a team in the league and it was better than any I’ve played in. If you ever get a chance to email him I do believe you’ll change your mind about LBL if you think he’s a winded jerk as I did. He’s a very religious Christian to boot, so don’t think that he’ll come at you like a ton of bricks on an email? Big family guy who talks about his wife and kids a lot too.

Greg always seems to provide interesting takes and has a nice depth of knowledge in all the major sports. By the way, I haven’t heard him call The Drive in several weeks! Hope everything is ok…

I also vote for Greg in Ventura. I’ve heard him on other call-in shows recently so he must be OK. But I miss him calling The Drive.
