Tempe Wednesday 2/24 - Batting Practice Pics

PrintI was able to squeeze in an hour up there today mid-day so here are some pictures in the main stadium. Didn't see Kendry (absent); otherwise, here's all our starters.
The other noticable absences were Q, Terry Evans & Bobby Wilson weren't hitting with the A-team, but Willits was. I wouldn't read too much of that as far as who's #25 on the roster, just wanted to note it.

Kendry is supposed to be there in a few days
He hit a paperwork snag with immigration or something. It was on the Angels main site.

I was calling him "Peter Gammons"
Every swing Matsui took in BP, he wrote down something. He was the most interesting character, i was trying to get a good shot of the big guy with the bow tie and suspenders.
On another note, i got pics of all the big front office people you can see, but one i didn’t get was of Bill Stoneman who is also ever present.
I read Kendry had some travel issues so I wasn’t surprised he wasn’t there. And i don’t think I’ve missed to much the last 3 days, there’s been rain and the fish wraps have said fielding practice has been limited and/or cancelled.
Stoneman is usually wearing that straw hat...
I thought your “day 1” or “day 2” pics had him in the background…

Is it normal for the owner to be chillin with the players during ST so much?
Dont get me wrong, I dig it. I think it just shows how much Arte loves baseball but it seems unusual. I cant imagine one of the Steinbrenners chilling during batting practice…
Halos & Clips...must have something to do with the color red and jaded pasts...

he's there
but i don’t see him interact with the players very much. just the coaches and front office types. he observes his team – he doesn’t really interact with the players.
Im sure that is on purpose...
There are definitely boundaries within the entire organization. Im sure Soth prefers if Arte keeps some sort of distance. I still think its cool though he is there…
