Angels shorten ST bench by 17
If you go to the bottom of this article about Jepsen and Rodney, you'll see that 17 players were reassigned to minor league camp.
With the roster down to 49 players, are we going to start seeing some improvement in our ST record?

Bell
The Lesser Trevor was not off to a good start this spring. I wonder what his role will be at SLC. I assume he’ll be in the Bees’ rotation. He and SOS are the first two guys I’d expect to see when the Angels need a sixth or seventh starter.
No real surprises, though. There’s only one or two spots available on the 25-man, and those figure to go to players who are out of options.
Kohn was effective in all of his appearances. He’s someone to keep an eye on this season, as I think he’s got a chance to make it to AAA this year, at which point he’s only a phone call away if someone in the bullpen is injured or ineffective.
I thought Trevor B pitched well the last couple of weeks
He was used in situational relief, and not stretched out the way SOS and Ortega were. It seems the Halos were giving him a legitimate look for a bullpen role. I think he’s the first one of that group to be sent down to the minors because the Halos want him to get ebough innings to stretch out for the SLC rotation.
Hope so

I really don't know why some of those guys were sent down....
I don’t much about ST schedules though. But I thought Reckling could have spent some more time against better competition. The same goes for Amarista and Kohn. Glad to see Conger’s still getting some work in, Trumbo and Bourjos too.
I’m really not sure why SOS or Bell would be the starters the Angels call on in a pinch. I’d much rather trust Palmer and Reckling first. Maybe even Walden. Maybe Bell, I mean his stuff isn’t that good but he’s doing well in the minors. Anyone but SOS.
Sent down for ...
more time in game- the Angel starters will start to use up more innings/at bats at ST. Being sent down this early ain’t a bad thing. They will get more playing time and be in top shape come the regular seasons start, or soon after, if and when they are needed.
might have to work on some thing to correct a flaw. that’s what the coaches in the minors are there for.
Ain’t no use being there if you are not going to be used.
Don't forget
that these guys are still around, so they are just a yell away when/if Soth needs an extra player or two for a game. So just because they’ve been reassigned doesn’t mean that this is the last we’ve seen of them this spring.
Sooo ready for the season to start! Go Angels!
Good point...
“Sent down” simply means being assigned to a different playing field at the Tempe complex.
I love this team.

That should be the title of Brandon Wood's memoirs.

It was fun to watch these ST games with all the minor leaguers.
It sure helps to gain familiarity with them and a chance to see what they can do. I thought Michael Ryan definitely has a future as well as Amarista.

Sorry not named after Guerrero...but would be cool
I only care about winning games when the real season starts...
This is just ST. Get a look at the young guys and get the vets into playing shape. I’d actually prefer it if they didn’t even keep track of the win/loss records.

REC'd
True just look at last year. If I remember correctly we had a great record in ST and had a bit of a slow start.
