Jose Guillen - Blood Clots
I know he was a jerk when he was here, but apparently Doctors had to talk to him about the possibility of dying from blodd clots at the end of last season.

That sucks.
As much as Jose is not the nicest guy in the world, shouldn’t have to deal with this sort of thing. Glad he’s ok.
Light up that halo! RIP, Nick.
Guillen is a...

oh waaaahhhh
chance of dying minimum. Losing his legs from obviously ignoring symptoms, THAT I can buy.
Take your thinners/anti-platelets like a good little boy.
Bitter much ms. Bug?

Geebus, I think Bug was one my nurses
“get your half an ass out of bed. You think we’re a hotel? I don’t shiv a git that you usually get different insulin, you want it in the stomach or the arm?” No sponge bath for Moondoggy (those letters are lies). :(
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
awww, Bug would be nicer to Moondoggy
I just don’t like drama created where there was none. I wouldn’t believe Guillen if it came wrapped in gold.
You know I didn't have nearly the problem with Guillen as I think most did
the time he blew up at Scioscia, was a case when Soth clearly over managed the situation. He NEVER should have been pulled for a pinch runner in a game that likely was going to extra innings when he was our only consistent hitter at the time. I remember being particularly upset because he was pinchrun for by someone that wasn’t exactly a speed demon.
You may have a point...
But, do you think that was the only problem Scioscia had with Guillen? Hardly. I think there’s A LOT more that never made it out to the public.
OK, I'm finally over losing Tex. Thanks Kendry.
If you can say Alfredo Amezaga backwards (Agazema Oderfla) . . . . .
. . . . . you are the second coming of Harry Caray!
In the bottom of the 8th inning of a 3-3 tie in the 9/25/04 Oakland @ Anaheim game Chad Bradford hit the lead-off batter Jose Guillen. Mike Scioscia then had Alfredo Amezaga pinch-run for Guillen. Amezaga scored on a Garret Anderson double.
Take it from there BaseballReference.com!
“Top of the 9th, Athletics Batting, Behind 3-5, Angels’ Troy Percival facing 4-5-6
Troy Percival replaces Francisco Rodriguez pitching
Alfredo Amezaga moves from PR to 2B
Chone Figgins moves from 2B to 3B
Curtis Pride replaces Andres Galarraga (PH) playing LF batting 7th”
In the ninth inning Scioscia improved the Angel defense at three positions (2B Amezaga instead of Figgins, 3B Figgins instead of McPherson, LF Pride instead of Guillen). I thought at the time “Classic move!” and I continue to think that. Scioscia nailed it
I am sorry about Guillen’s problems with blood clots. I only boo players I don’t like. I do not stick pins in voodoo dolls. I am not residing in the same time zone as Baby Doc Duvalier.
Right, but pulling out the "Donnelly is using pine tar" is simply deplorable.
Lame to rat out a former teammate like that.
I love this team.
