Jered Weaver Acing Angels Season So Far
FINAL SCORE in Toronto: Angels 7, Blue Jays 5 ... Jered Weaver was dominant on the mound for the Angels, but the bullpen, primarily Jason Bulger, made it interesting. By their fingernails, and with the tying run at the plate when a 5-run lead had been whittled down to better than a save situation, the Angels took the first game of this three game series.
Weaver struck out 8 Blue Jays in 7 innings pitched, but left the game after allowing solo homer to start the 8th, his 2nd solo blast and 2nd earned run of the night. After a disastrous appearance by Jason Bulger put a few more runs across, Kevin Jepsen cleaned up the mess and Fernando Rodney got the save.
The difference in the game turned out to be a 2 run double in the top of the 8th by Maicer Izturis. Five other Angels had 1 RBI, including Kendry Morales hitting a monster shot off of Blue Jays starter Shaun Marcum.

Our SBN partner FANGRAPHS has Jered Weaver responsible for 54% of tonight's victory and, surprisingly, Jeff Mathis responsible for just over 20% of it. Mathis did score 2 runs, had a Ribby and a stolen base, but who knew!?!

I believe that 7 had just happened as of that date, too.
We’re even on the upswing now, whereas we were on the downswing then…So LET’S GO!

And look at him in the picture above!!!!
He’s bringing it all!!!!!! F>>>K YEA!!!!!
I mean the dude is focused, mad and mean; and his stuff is nice……
I saw some badass breaking balls today and the fastball was lively and hitting the corners
That’s what I call leading by example.
If Voodoo would take after Weave more—HE would be the ace

QuitcherbitchinaboutWoodandcheerfortheguy
well besides bulger... everyone looked good today...
gotta give it up for Mathis though. the guy keeps hitting and getting on base, to the dread of the Napolites out there. I don’t care whos in, as long as they produce, and you have to say Mathis is doing that. Weave is def. the Panther tonight
IT COULD HAPPEN

Rockin Rodney--
New Closer
Feunesaurus had how many 1-2-3 innings last year?
Also, Rodney fares better as closer than set-up as was reported here earlier
"You been putting it up your whole life. You just didnt know it" Anton Chigurh
So how does Fuentes fare as a setup man?
Also, Fuentes was 1-2-3 in his first save situation as an Angel, and a sample size of two is worthless.
Good point
Fuentes might suck as set up too
But Rodney is just …badder…he looks badder (look at that picture on Rev’s other post)
He throws badder: faster fastball—at close to 95, right?
F is lucky to hit 91.
The wicked 2-seam fastball, the good breaking stuff, the baddass ‘tude—
I vote for giving him the job permanantly and lets see if Rockin’ keeps rockin’ !

I thought I threw 6000 points down a rat hole until I saw Bulger enter the game!

PREGAME PICK ISSUE...
I know I voted for “more than three” yesterday. I am not in the results. When I bet, I saw the “your bet has been wagered” confirmation.
I love this team.
I have no idea...
I am lost. Wake me up on May 1, I guess. Although, today, I have been able to wager 1 point. Further, it said I had points when I made that bet. So it looks like I should have had points. Whatever… this game is getting me frustrated. Maybe because I suck at it.
I love this team.

Yep sure enough...
my Friday pick did not get registered. Damn … that would have been the first one that I got right and won points for. I wonder if I should take a screen shot every day just to prove that I voted???
I love this team.

Los Angeles de Anaheim
Went against the popular opinion and lost… but still has more points than I’ll ever see.
