Police received a call before 9 a.m. that a man had been found unconscious at the Grand American hotel in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, police spokesman Detective Rick Wall told CNN. Wall said paramedics and and fire officials responded to the hotel but were unable to revive McGregor. He said the cause of death was not known. McGregor, 48, has been the team's president since October 2001 and had been with the organization for 15 years, according to the team's website. The Rockies website says McGregor was raised in Colorado and joined the Rockies organization after he worked for four years as an athletic director at the University of Arkansas.
