Take, for example, "Sunday Night Baseball."

More than twice as many fans tune in to watch a Yankees-Red Sox game than watch a game without either team — that’s 4.6 million people versus 2.1 million. What programmer wouldn’t want to attract 2.5 million extra sets of eyeballs by simply selecting an attractive matchup?

To which I respond:

What corporate executive wouldn’t want to attract a greater percentage of the 304 million people in America who are currently uninterested in the Yankees or the Red Sox by simply doing their job and working to grow market share and repeating the success they had in creating in Red Sox national fan base?

That requires hard work and strategic planning and an open mind

When is the last time you heard of a corporate executive who liked any of those, especially when they could just sit back on their current cash cow and keep collecting a paycheck without doing much?
