The Angels all time winningest pitcher Chuck Finley did not win his first game in 1994 until May 8, when he turned in a dominating performance, going the distance and shutting out the Oakland Atheletics 7-0. The Angels tacked Ron Darling with 3 runs in the 1st inning and never looked back. Harold Reynolds led off getting hit by the pitch, Jim Edmonds singled followed by a Tim Salmon single that scored Reynolds. Chili Davis walked and Bo Jackson singled home Edmonds. With the bases loaded and nobody out, leave it to Chad Curtis to ground into a double play, plating Salmon. Curtis made it to 3B on a basehit by Jorge Fabregas but a Spike Owen groundout ended the inning.
