Time for the young guys to start racking up the frequent flyer miles.
Alright Brandon, you're free..........and we're waiting.
I am glad Will Smith gave up on the Acting and Singing Career

I actually laughed after reading this.
I think you’re growing on me DOV, tumor-like, but interestingly enough.

I'm wondering if this can be permanent....
With Michael Ryan and Kevin Frandsen, Q has lost ALL his value to this team. Palmer just hasn’t been cutting it, Bell dominated AA and AAA last year, is young, is healthy and is throwing strikes. Will Smith has middle/end of the rotation upside, but he’s a big lefty that throws strikes. Perhaps the Angels don’t need him toiling in Rancho any longer. I find it interesting that Michael Kohn wasn’t promoted to replace Thompson.
If these moves do happen to stick, I’m also curious to see if we see any promotions to Rancho from Cedar Rapids. My money is on Richards and Trout.

My money's on Brandon Wood.
I mean, the guy can hit.

Your commment may be prophetic:
“Will Smith has middle/end of the rotation upside, but he’s a big lefty that throws strikes. Perhaps the Angels don’t need him toiling in Rancho any longer.”
Neither of our two lefties, Kazmir nor Saunders, has been wowing any of us…..Actually non of our three lefties (Fuentes).
Reckling’s in AAA; now Smith’s in AAA getting experience against more polished competition.
Can’t remember who it was (without looking it up), but someone had him as our #1 prospect.
....And then, 3 hours later, a retraction.
Like the cockroach, you just can't kill Q
I know how to spell "comment";
my wine just hasn’t taken effect yet.
It was Steven, creator or futureangels that ranked him #1 a year ago.
Smith was dominant in rookie ball and alright in A ball. It became clear that as big as he was and left handed, stuff wise he’s just not gonna be a #1 anything. So tons of people jumped off the wagon, even thought they shouldn’t have. He’s still young, there’s a good chance he adds another tick or two on his fastball. So a big, long armed imposing lefty that can dial it up to 94 and has great control, that’s what Smith can be.
I don’t think Reckling will be promoted because:
1. He’s only 20, has a lot of developing left
2. As effective as he’s been at every level, including AAA PCL SLC a hitters paradise, he walks way too many batters. That’s a sore spot right now. At this time, Reckling would probably be no more effective than Saunders. But in 2 years…..

But Q is our DH!
Should be interesting to see if Bell pans out. In the past, it was a strength of Sosh’s to be able to piece together the necessary parts to keep the Angels winning consistently. We’ll see if these recent moves prove Sosh has still got it.
Ironically, some of the same guys Sosh has called upon to revitalize the team in the past later became the guys that needed to be replaced – Arredondo, Palmer, who else?
I'm wearing a "Markas" patch on my sleeve this season.
I think as long as we don't have any illusions about Bell, we won't be disappointed.
He’s a very good minor league pitcher now. But let’s face it, he’s a small statured pitcher with an average at best fastball, average curve and good change up. When he gets ahead in the count, he can be effective and get some outs. But as soon as he falls behind, he lacks a pitch good enough to consistently get major leaguers out.
He’s a long reliever/spot starter, a 5th man in the rotation at his very best. If that’s all we expect, he won’t disappoint. I think the only disappointing thing about him i the fact that he was drafted so high. Neither he or O’Sullivan have the God given stuff to warrant such a high pick.

It's only the bottom of the 2nd in the BOS-TOR game and there's been 8 walks handed out.
Lackey’s line stat thus far: 2IP, 4H, 4ER, 3BB’s.

So I guess we’re not the only pitching staff handing out free bags.

Ha! I hope we never call Q back up.
Somehow I know he will be back, but it would be so nice to see him ride that nice shuttle off into the sunset, never to be heard from again.

Ya, I don't want to see him in the majors again.
Though I think he could make a good coach somewhere in the minors when he’s done playing
There might be an opening at Visalia
Quinny is, unfortunately for him (as everything I’ve read seems to indicate he’s a good guy), completely expendable for this team right now.
It might be a time for him to ask for a release and start anew with another squadron.
And let’s at least TRY Bell, O’Sullivan, and more. It is nigh-inconceivable they would make the bullpen situation worse.

There's a lot of people who'd love to play in the majors.
and somehow, Q stays signed onto one of the best teams in the AL west year after year.
He has one of the longest rookie hitting streaks (21), of all time and reached base 86 consecutive times during his junior year in high school.
You can’t make up a storied history of stats like that. My hat’s off to you Q!

You guys are mean....
Q hardly got any playing time. They bring up guys who have been playing almost if not everyday in AAA and and expect Q to play like them. I do think that if Q was given some time he’d be hitting.
I was hoping Andrew Romine would be called up to replace Q instead
just so that we’d have the entire Airplane! courtroom trifecta on the same roster.
Prosecutor: And he went to pieces?
Witness: No. Andy was the navigator. He was all right. Budde went to pieces. It was awful how he came unglued.
Prosecutor: How he came unglued?
Witness: Oh, no. Howie was a rock, the best tailgunner in the outfit. Budde came unglued.
Prosecutor: And he bailed out?
Witness: No. Andy hung tough. Budde bailed out. How he survived, it was a miracle.
Prosecutor: Then Howie survived?
Witness: No, ’fraid not. We lost Howie the next day.
"All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine."
I think it was the wish of 95.3% of Angels fans!
Q thanks for being a good bench player for like a 3 year span. It’s not your fault Soth played you well belong your usefulness. No grudges here! GL in AAA and riding pine back in Anaheim in September.
What is left to complain about?
Oh, Fuentes… ;)
I love this team.

This is pretty surprising
Will Smith must really be impressing the organization. Its unusual for us to promote a player skipping a whole level.
He was already one of the youngest pitchers (20 yrs old) in the Cal league, had only been there a month, and was doing pretty well but not outstanding. Giving typical Will Smith pitching lines.
Nevertheless i’m going to be very interested to see ow this plays out.

That's what most of us are wondering...
Young guy skips AA altogether, but the numbers don’t seem to warrant it. My best guess is it’s not permanent, but count me among those who hope it is.
