Bobby Cassevah Brought Up to Pitch in Relief.
Per Biggsy at AM830, Brian Stokes was placed on the DL today and will be replaced by Bobby Cassevah. Matt Palmer has been placed on the DL (shoulder) and not sent down to triple A and will not lose any of his major league playing time.

Does this mean he's DFA'd?
He didn’t have any options left, did he?
It must be that time of day, the time to focus on sports.
He went to the DL so they wouldn't have to do that.

Ironic the Angels were so willing to lose Cassevah to rule 5....
And now this is his 2nd promotion this year and it’s only May. So he doesn’t K tons of guys, so what, his numbers in AAA suggest he’s ready for his shot. If the A’s bullpen wasn’t so damn dominant we probably would have never got him back.
"He’s not a Rhodes Scholar to begin with, obviously." -Theo Epstein talking about Jon Papelbon.
"OMG, I think I'm gonna barf!" Halowood's reaction to Fuentes facing a Right Handed Batter.
I think Cassevah just happens to be around and Scioscia is trying any option he has at this point.
The bullpen was in this exact same bad shape this same time last year, and we saw a revolving door merry-go-round cast of pitchers just as we are seeing this year.
I'm not as bad as all of you.
Manipulating the rules to protect players as best they can.
Interesting that Matt Palmer was placed on the MLB DL as opposed to the SLC AAA DL. There must be a difference that Regins/Scioscia is trying to exploit.
you cannot send a guy down
and DL him if his last appearance was in MLB – he gets a retroactive MLB DL for purposes of “service time”
Well, I didn't know that.
I was just going with what I assumed from reading Plunkett:
“Before he gets to Salt Lake though, Palmer will travel back to Los Angeles to be examined by Yocum. Palmer has been pitching with discomfort in the front of his right shoulder in the clavicle area. He could land on Salt Lake’s DL.”
I know……….You tried to warn me.
